Yeah, all they tell you is what’s likely. I use statistics every day, and for the most part, they’re pretty reliable. I’m sure it’s the same in your business. In restaurants, if you serve an average of 200 people on Monday’s over the past 8 weeks, next Monday it’s likely you’ll see about 200 people. Sure, the weather could be crap an you only do 130, or there could be a grad ceremony that day and you end up seeing 350, but if you aren’t paying attention to those other variables you probably won’t be in business long.

In hockey, if your goalie has a .923 save % you can expect that in the next game he’ll likely make 9 saves for every 10 shots, unless he’s Mike Smith or Jacob Markstrom, in which case you have no clue what you’re going to get.

I don’t like the Blues but was hoping they would put up a better fight than five games. Avs have had a bit of a cake walk to the third round. I would like to see a team give them a bit more resistance.
