Exactly. Not a horrible draft but it is missing the wow factor. - Nighthawk
Yup. A top 2 picks in this draft look like at best maybe a 4-5 player in next years draft.

In the unlikely event they lose TM or OEL, that would be a good start. - VanHockeyGuy

Kind of like you overvaluing draft picks right now. The supposed best player in this draft isn't expected to ever break a PPG in his NHL career. - manvanfan
In a single season? I think he will barring major injury. |

I do think they will fix things, maybe just not as fast as they need to.

If scoring continues to be as high as it was this season, maybe but normally a PPG is much harder than this season.
From what I've seen his stats comparables are near but little lower then Duchene and Seguin. Duchene just had his first ever PPG season. Seguin has broke it 3 times.
Style comparison everyone mentions is Bergeron did it once only.

Say good night Carolina. Nice while it lasted.
Gary might get the best final four possible; in the east, Stanley Cup champs vs largest sports market in the world. In the west, best player in the world against the most exciting team in the NHL. |

Really horrible that Tampa will be in the finals again for a 3rd straight season then. Florida, Carolina have been just disappointing. |

Goaltending and defence wins championships at the NHL level. Tampa is just the best of the best in all areas. |

Myers might have some value if Canucks retain salary but OEL is an anchor of a contract and I’m afraid you guys are probably stuck with him. Maybe Benning will get hired somewhere and make a pitch for his D. |

Rod has just taken the offensive creativity out of all of his players.
Florida just had no goaltending all season and then made their D worse. Unfortunate. |

That said I'm sure there's been some trade talk between these two teams with JR's history.

JT Miller's career high was 58pts in 82 games until he joined Vancouver. He's 29 years old and just eclipsed ppg for the 2nd time. His outlier season is this season, where you just mentioned the scoring was high.
I'd take Shane Wright for Miller, he's 11 years younger and has a higher ceiling. |
