Lol we’re like 2 gms away. One to dismantle this cluster(frank) and the other to finish up the job the first one started - PhillaBully
Bring on Ragnar as coach, Floki to run the PP, Ivar the Boneless to coach the PK and Lagertha as the GM...

Tough call. There's guys I'd want gone like Ristolainen but a. No one wants him.b. if you could find a taker it's for pennies on the dollar.
I'm sick of Hayes but again, no takers. I'm biting the bullet of one more year of JVR.
Sorry if it felt like I dodged the question. The guys I want moved are unmovable. - Pelle31Forever
I suppose 7 other GMs offering a 1st plus for him last offseason does not impact your opinion that no one wants him?
He pretty much played as advertised.
But hey not every dman we have is as good as our perennial Norris candidate, Provorov.

Ristolainen is movable. I know it, you know it. Fletcher wants him here. I’m fine with him being here but most of our fans are being over dramatic and speaking as if we’re stuck with him. I’ll give him another full season before rushing to judgement. The entire team was lackluster from top to bottom. |

I'd be surprised if a contending team would take on JVR for a full season. The cap is really tight for most contending teams so even with 50% retained, it's a tough sell. Far more likely if he has a decent season to be a deadline deal. - MJL
Now this is more logical thinking. Unless something big is in the works (I doubt it), I’d hang on to JvR until the next deadline and get something for him. |

He did play pretty much as advertised. Overwhelmingly mediocre. That's the problem. Let those other 7 GM's take him. |

In my view you look at what support structure you need to keep in place. For me, that's Couturier, Konecny , Laughton, Provorov and Sanheim. The rest you fill in with young players and prospects. Not that those players are untouchable but you just can't empty the cup board completely.
Like you said though. There's difficulty in moving players. - MJL
Farabee doesn’t make your list?
Or do you put him as one of the few assets Hilly could actually fetch something for?
I’d put him on my short list. At 22, I’ve seen what he can do, and I think he’s worth keeping in orange.

Jeez. The 'kid line' for the rangers just globe-trotted the bolts. Might not continue but it was neat to see. |

Another horrible pickup by Drury, Frank Vatrano. That guy really doesn’t know what he’s doing as a GM |

They’ve been pretty good so far in these playoffs. No reason to think they won’t continue but I do expect the bolts to be better and win the series. |

Seems like some rust with TB with not playing for 9 games. When or if all 3 of those guys take off, Rangers will be a juggernaut.

My top two guys I would trade right now but I think the organization are super high on are Cam Atkinson and Scott Laughton. Watching Atkinson go neck and neck was Voracek at his price tag was nice until he got hurt but the reality is, Jake is not only the better player but the healthier player. As for Laughton, I think he brings more value to a contender than an underachieving team such as this one. Neither guy we should retain salary on. |

Not sure if the stats prove it out but Cam seemed to be less productive once G got traded, even before he got injured.

He looked best with Brassard and once Brassard got hurt or traded, his production dropped without Brassard in the line up. |

Jake is healthier cause he spends most of his games playing on the perimeter. Cam actually goes into the dirty areas to score goals. Unfortunately that brings on the increased chances of injury(especially with his size), but to state that Jake is simply the better player makes no sense at all.
On another note, I believe I mentioned that the Rags' kid line scares me. Wa la, there was the example tonight. They are bringing an element that makes the Rags very dangerous. My thinking is that the Bolts were rusty and this was a game the Rags were going to win, but if the Rags win game 2....look out. Go Avs!!
Forgot to mention Laughts. He is just a very strange player to me. At times he looks like a 25-30 goal scorer and then he completely goes MIA for 30 games. He's just a strange player to get a read on. Don't care if he stays or goes to be honest, but then again I could say that about most players on this sad sack team. I don't even have the energy to discuss this team cause it's all been talked about. I'm enjoying watching real hockey! The Flyers suck. Thanks!
Damn, one more thing on this late night ramble session(no I'm not drinking). The first player on my hit list is TK. Trade him to LA for some of their young talent. I've seen enough of his lazy play and not bearing down. Lots of ability, but it seems when he spends all his time yapping at the other team it takes him off his own game. Time to move on! I mean, JVR is obvious, but no one is taking him unless you retain a good bit of salary and that makes the trade worthless. |

100% agree. Let's see how Risto does on a team with a competent coaching staff. He will never will a top-pairing defenseman, but the good news is he is not being paid as if he is. |

Stating that Voracek is a player that stays on the perimeter is nonsense. That's just made up on your part. So Voracek is a playmaker and Atkinson is a goal scorer. Voracek ranked in the top 20 in the NHL in assists. Atkinson was 95th in the league in goals scored. To be fair, he would've ranked a little higher if not for injury. Atkinson is the better off the puck player but that aspect of his game is not enough to tilt the scale. Voracek makes more of an impact on the game for his team. So saying that Voracek is better makes no sense. Makes no sense. Thanks

So another year of let's see how Ristolainen does with a ……………
Old saying, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I'd settle for Ristolainen being a good second pair defenseman. Unfortunately, he's more of a 3rd pair defenseman. He's make a pretty good 3rd pair defenseman. Unfortunately, he makes too much money for that. |
