Credit to Smith for not getting totally blown out by this point.
That offsetting penalty call was embarrassing. I hope the refs lose sleep tonight knowing they are bad at their job. - micah555
No one is that bad at officiating. They are just making dishonest calls. Peel got caught on mic doing exactly what we see them do all the time. He never got fired for the call he made... he got fired for putting a spotlight on the broken officiating system that we all have excepted as normal.

For goalies drafted from 2000 to 2012, the success rate for Euro goalies was nearly double the CHL yet CHL goalies were drafted ~235% more.
Teams appeared to have noticed this (somewhat). From 2013 to 2022, only 48 CHL goalies were drafted (first eligible draft year) and 53 Euro goalies were drafted.
Probably good to note as well that 11 of the past 15 top Vezina candidates were European (drafted out of Europe).

Tom Brady did and won multiple Super Bowls because of it.

True. lol. Wifey making the fat stacks…
Gisele Bündchen has a net worth of $400 million. That fortune is separate and independent from her husband Tom Brady's $250 million fortune. Combined the Bundchen-Bradys are worth $650 million.
Patrick Johnston with an interesting article. Lots of quality about draft trends.
The recent trend of underwhelming results coming out of the WHL isn’t unique to the Canucks, though.
“The WHL is somewhat underwhelming as a league. It is far from the worst league in terms of producing players who outperform their draft position, but it is the third worst of the 10 most commonly selected-from leagues. It was even behind the QMJHL, although likely not in a statistically significant way,” he explained.
Explains why the last regime wasn't drafting all that much out of the WHL.
