you gotta spend money to make money.. if they sign him i bet ticket sales go way up
- SabresFaninIndiana

It really shouldn't be about the money in that that they have some ~ $22m -$23m to get to the Cap Floor.
$4.7m on Fluery
$5.5m for #2RhD
$4.75m for Olo
$1.25 m Brycen
$1.25m for UPL
$2.6m for Krebs, Quinn, Peterka promotions
$800 for Pysyk
$750 for 7th Dman

That's ~$22.6m and fairly realistic.
Again, I don't see much more in the F ranks as Adams uses the season to evaluate his next moves for the following season.

Edit - point is that the team could take a pretty good step forward and continue to take the next steps while still be a fiscally conservative team to stabilize the franchise after virtual bloodbath the Last couple years.

Terrible post

Pegulas spend $, what team have you been watching?

Last year, during a pandemic and all time Sabres attendance issues aside.

- Boss34

They do?

Didn't pay Reinhart, Wouldn't pay O'reilly's bonus. Won't hold cap in trades.

They've been penny pinching for years now.

But It doesn't count cause covid right?

Talk about a terrible post

Meh on that. Many teams don't hold cap in trades.

As far as the penny pinching, they've spent to the cap almost every year of their ownership, except the last few, with terrible results. They've gone after the big fish, whether it be coaches or players. I don't blame them for a reset.

I have zero issue with the gutting of the scouting dept (which they've built back up). It's been well documented that for the number of scouts they DID have, they weren't earning their paychecks (not scouting games or players as they should have), so many of them were canned, and rightfully so.

When you're a bottom dweller it'd help for the future.

And clearly the departments(not just scouting) haven't been doing their jobs for sometime. Always takes the Pegs a little to long to make the right decisions.

Which bring me to another point of not spending the cash. especially where and when they should. Shoulda gotten a real president not kim the kuck

Agree on the real president. Could've overseen the entire hockey dept better.

1 for 2 on your examples.

How about signing Taylor hall just a season ago?

Holding $ on trades 😀😀😀😀

You suck at posting today.

You came up with very few examples.

Weird cause half the team was drafted by the last scouting department. I am happy they gutted it and rebuilt it. But lot of failure goes to a Owner who kept flip flopping.

Gutting it wasn't the problem. If the scouts were bums, get rid of them. Not hiring new ones was the problem. It's hard to give them any credit for eventually doing the right thing after exhausting all of the wrong things.

Hiring KA to downsize the organization was a cost-cutting move that only spiraled from there. Tempted to call it cheap, but can you really fault them for running their organization more like a business? They've wasted a lot of money on this team.

Gotta give Adams some credit, cause he's built up a pretty decent one. Pegula's didn't stay the course, they wanted a speed up twice, affects a lot

Uhhhmmmmm ya... 11 years in of "our existence to win a Cup"

Everything that has gone wrong has been a clear decision from Kerry.

They get no sympathy for wasting money. I've wasted money going to those games and buying their overpriced sh!t, You don't see me cheaping out now.

The pegula's definitely wasted a lot of money and went a different direction.

Covid pandemic and the cost cutting move/ hiring of KA kinda happened at the exact same time.

They just signed the biggest ufa ever a season ago in Taylor hall.

We finally are building the team correctly.

The pegula's may not be running the organization correctly, but acting like they are cheap is absurd.

They are cheap... Just cause they spent ridiculous money on ridiculous things 4-5 years ago doesn't mean they haven't been cheap for 3 years now.

They are cheap with the things the shouldnt be cheap with and when it comes to spending they really don't know... 8 million on Taylor Hall for what again 2 goals?
