Depends on the number of UFA years included in the contract term.
If he gets 6 years, then you're probably right.

I based my estimate on 3 years, so only 2 years of UFA...
For comparison, the Twins projection is 4 years at $4.95..so, 4 x $5.0

One year less of UFA contract year should equate to slightly less, IMO.
I discounted it by $200k (4%)

They've been cheap with hiring another scouting department. Get Sam under contract. Didn't pay O'reilly bonus to get a better deal, wouldn't hold cap when it made sense to.

They spend when they shouldn't and they don't where they should.

Ya, I can NOT (edit) pin "cheap" on the Pegula's except for the ROR Bonus issue...but even that was more spiteful than cheap.

I don't care how rich one is, losing $42m in a year AND being world-class poopty on ice for the 5th or 6th year in a row just doesn't stack up to spend more money.

Kevyn has proven so far to be pretty effective especially when considering what he had to start with in year 1.
