I think you could have signed a hell of a roster player for 1 year 5 mill instead of putting that on LTIR

OK, well let's see it instead of prospects not signing and possibly walking away. First move you make is a contract so you don't actually have to pay money. Skepticism is very warranted here.

Well, they can't actually sign anyone yet. So there's that.

Also, teams are gearing up for the draft. I'm sure there have been trade talks, but you know as well as I do that most of those trades happen on draft day.

You make it sound like they are jumping up and down like they won the offseason. It isn't a good or bad look - they just made a business decision.

I hate to say it but Harrington made a great point about this. Teams take on these contracts all of the time. One big reason that they do it is that teams like us have a lot of cheap players and you can only take on 23 players at a time. Taking on this contract (and getting a marginal asset for the service) allows us to more easily get to the floor without taking a roster spot. In that sense it has nothing to do with how much we eventually spend on players. It won't stop us from shopping if we want to.

Kemell sometimes reminds me of Filip Forsberg or sometimes lazy patrik laine..

Still a good prospect with a high calling but this pick would feel Similar to joel armia

- gerbe75pts

Ya, Lehherimacki and Kemmel are lower on my list for sure.
Just uninspiring players.
I'd rather go get a guy with a high motor

we went from 20 mil to spend on 3 spots, to 15 mil to spend on 3 spots

arizona north as we will probably spend 5 mil for 2 spots

Welp, a certain administration that shall go unamed changed the dynamics in that industry about 17 months ago.

I think Taco did a nice job of laying out rational scenarios that shows they can still accomplish what most on here want.

But that's my point - they didn't go to 15 mill for the three spots. If they plan on spending 20 mill or even 40 mill for the 3 players, they still could. This move doesn't stop that, nor is it a "bad look".
