Again, I would say that refusing to upgrade your team because not enough people support it is a backwards way of approaching things. Get good and revenue isn't a problem.

It's not magic. Make a commitment to winning

Building this team the RIGHT WAY,
through drafting & developing our young talent,
is their COMMITMENT TO WINNING

Doesn’t make sense to “GMTM” this thing all over again & make the same mistakes
That would just be dumb

I’m glad they learned from their mistakes last time

I think this is one of the only ways to win the cup. Who wins the cup without solid top line players that they drafted?

Yes you can add players through trades/ FA signing, but very hard to find a solid player for the life of the contract. I would be happier giving a top FA $10m for 2 years than give a 7 year deal. Building through the draft, need to be really good there or get a whole bunch of sneaky good trades (super hard to do).

Yeah, like when the Blues traded for Schenn and ROR to win the cup?

Incredibly dumb. Building the wrong way.

They should have waited 3-4 more years

If you show up to camp with 3 goalies on league minimum contracts and a 4th on an ELC, is it really because you want to 'build the right way'?

You must be of the Tim Murray "give away your future assets for has beens" school. None of your suggestions will cut it.

Can’t force ppl to want to come here
And overpaying UFAs to do so is a bad habit to get in

Didn’t Adams say he was looking for a goalie?
Let’s see what happens, this season hasn’t even ended yet ffs

Stop! People have every right to complain about the sh!t show we have been handed for more than a decade. With what has happened this offseason already and with this move, some people have no confidence in what the Organization is doing. They brought that on themselves

Ya I agree that people have the right to be mad. I am in the minority but I’ve been saying for a long time this seemed like his plan and I am loving how he’s developing, evaluating and not going crazy with high end FAs or dumb trades.

See what you got first. And then make your moves. This is essentially a brand new rebuild, past has shown don’t rush it.

This.

Adams is obviously building it methodically and really doesn't seem to give a sh!t that a few fans are complaining before the NHL off-season even officially begins.

I don't think anyone wants to rush it. And they just did a dump trade. After watching some of the kids deciding or still languishing and not signing and then this move that didn't need to be done right now puts another hit in the confidence with this Organization, I mean it's hanging by a string as it is. I like what Donnie and the players have done, think there farther along than expected. It's time for the FO to catch up.

You are becoming unhinged.
A vir totally complete team made a couple of significant moves WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT.
You made my case, the defense rests.

Who says?

Did you talk to the other 31 teams? 😉

You guys say this every year. This team, that team and the other team are going to HAVE TO dump some good players to get under the cap, and well, they always find a way to hold on to most of their good players. Adams wants a little flexibility around the floor, wants his young players to get ice time (at least 5 of them will be on ELC, most likely) and isn't going big game hunting, so he wanted to make sure he got that cap hit.

We KNEW all of this.

Gerbe told us from day one that '23 was most likely the time he'll try and make a splash in free agency, if need be. That doesn't mean he isn't going to make a few moves. Let the man do his damn job.

Now, Go Yankees and go Bandits!

I said this earlier, and got crickets. They don't want to hear it, because it doesn't fit the narrative.

ROR was added when the team was basically one part away. The Sabres are clearly not and are still in somewhat of an evaluation stage. That's why you won't see Mitts traded this summer, unless it totally makes sense.

No I didn't, but there's probably 20 other contracts out there that he could have gotten. Bad excuse!! Whatever Power not gonna argue with you, everyone has there opinions. Good Hockey teams don't stop collecting talent because there afraid of blocking there prospects, if there good enough they will find a spot for them. Just gives you more usable assets or trade chips

Correct. This is not the go for it year. Sorry. I hope they spring for it one year, but it’s not this year. They should try to get some vets, but GM is doing a great job. He has to get some solid players added, but no swinging for the fences.
