Lefty had the Rangers penciled in for the final just 3 or 4 days ago.
Tampa not likely to lose at home... - boonerbuck
If you want to get technical the Rangers really are about two years ahead of schedule. Rode a hot goalie to this point and had to injure Crosby intentionally to get past the first round. Then ran into an injured Carolina club as well. Should not have have gotten past round 1. But...sh!t happens. |

Go Jon cooper! PG boy. I worked with a guy that grew up with him, same street playing road hockey. |

If VAN didn't have Demko they're a bottom 5 team.
After what we've seen in the playoffs the D is nowhere close to being playoff caliber.
System improvements are only an band aid. Fix the D. |

I’ve quite enjoyed Ryan Lindgren for NY, part of the Rick Nash trade from Boston (2nd round pick). Hope we draft some kids like that in the next few years. |

Agree 100% on the D needs fixing and I
m sure it will get addressed. With the defensive structure under Boudreau and the 5/5 play plus the win % this was not even close to a bottom 5 club regardless how good Demko plays. Under Green...bottom 10 for sure. But under BB's systems not even close IMO. We are seeing the inner workings of potential now...they key is for MNGT not to set us back another 5 years by getting hammered on a Miller deal that shouldn't technically happen until TDL next year if the club sputters. |

They can ill afford to mess this one up, why I'm okay whichever way it ends.
One interesting name floating around is Nicolas Roy.
Anyway JR has some homework to do before anything big happens. |

It didn't work out, he got some good players, lost some, but he wasn't capable of building a complete team, ran out of time. Hopefully the new group can turn it around in a couple of years. |

Demko had a good season. Not top 5. Rangers rode a vezina winning goalie. Shesterkins expected saves above expected was double demko's.
If Van is bottom 5. Rangers are one spot ahead in 6th. That's with their spectacular D. 😆 |

Benning always swung for potential in 2nd and 3rd rounders. Once in a while he should have drafted the "he will be an NHLer" type. |

You'd think with a scouting background?
Never mind.

More bad news, or stirring sh*t?
Seravalli said a league executive told him he would trade Demko right now.
Seravalli said he almost fell off his chair when he heard that.
Executive didn't know if Demko's body is going hold up because of his hip issues and said "he's going to be the next Cory Schneider". |

Not really. The philosophy was to take BPA in the first 3 rounds. Generally the will be an NHLer type get picked late 1st or early mid 2nd. Teams have different needs. Should see more of that now with less need to swing for fences. |

JR has said as much that the D has to be improved on break outs. Also said the prospect pool has to be restocked on D & C’s. |
