Because all stats live in a vacuum and absolutes. Refuting a game plan with cherry picked stats isn't really a good argument.
Of course there are times where the counter showed true. But by in large the Lightning play there best hockey game when up and clogging the middle. For the Rangers to regain momentum, they need dictate pace and prevent that system. Game 3 was the example when the Rangers laid back and let Tampa dictate the pace. Hence the loss.

Yes, up multiple goals in Game 3 on the road and one key is staying out of the box with stupid penalties. Yes, Tampa was up 1-0 in Game 2, but mindset and how tight you might grip your hockey stick in game 5 with series tied at two is a lot different than Game 2 after winning Game 1.

Yup, that line is more of a flashy line that didn’t adjust to the physical play of the playoffs. Panarin is hurt but I still don’t get all the blind backhand passes to the middle of no where. Strome has been bad/boarder line terrible and Copp started off strong but has really fallen off.

This is the exact spot and game (home for game 5) before messiers guarantee. I’m not sure we have anyone capable of guaranteeing anything now tho lol so we’ll need a win
