The list goes on. The fighting prerequisite for captain is pretty narrow minded... it's not a bad thing getting a level of enforcement out of your captain but it appears winning leaders show a lot less of that than everything else it takes to lead a team to a cup.

It's so much easier to put yourself in harms way when you have a half dozen players on your team that can back you up.

Unfortunately we lost so much sandpaper last offseason, homegrown stuff. Good 4th line options if we weren't "going for it".

There are so many ways to lead, I don't really want a good youngish 3 zone player wrecking his hands on someone's face a dozen times a year.

Right, and the multitudes of winning captains who don't hardly ever drop the gloves still get respect. Bo is respected by his team. They are the ones who look to him as one of the teams leaders regardless of what fans and idiots in the media think.

I don't mind Swedes, especially the good ones. The undersized marginal ones I have less use for. Imagine where we'd be as a franchise without Ohlund, Naslund and the Sedins to name a few.
