Haven't seen any reports that the Avs got "lucky" playing Nashville's second and third string goalie, knocked out Binnington and played a rookie goalie and then the oldest goalie in the league Mike Smith. Very fortunate for them - Rangers99
I think the fact that they've lost 2 games so far this playoffs and have dominated those teams plays into it, don't you? If Colorado went 7 games vs Nashville or didn't dominate St. Louis and Edmonton people would point out that they were playing against injuries just like they did for us. It's pretty clear Colorado was going to dominate regardless. We just went to the ECF I think we can stop playing the victim card as fans |

Well, I think that is exactly what you'll see.
I suspect Hunt will still be a Ranger, but I hope we will see him in the line up much less frequently. Nemeth MUST be traded. Not just because he doesn't deserve a roster spot, but we NEED that cap space. Trade him and a 3rd for a 7th, I don't care. Just move him with no salary retained or returned. - Tonybere
I know buyout is a dirty word, but, here are the stats on a Nemeth buyout
2022-23: 1 million cap hit
2023-24: 0 cap hit
2024-25: 1 million cap hit
2025-26: 1 million cap hit

I'm saying it more as a joke to how that's what we all heard is the reasons why the Rangers went this far. I wouldn't care if the Rangers won the cup playing every teams minor league affiliates |

I think I would have been more OK with that. I can't stand Hunt. - JRR1285
I can't stand Hunt either and I was really mad Kakko was scratched too, but I've moved on.
I think GG wanted Goodrow in the top 9 for game 6. He was shuffling up the lines so the kid line wasn't going to be together anyway and Kakko would've been the one left on the 4th line. For 4th line duties I don't blame GG for going with Hunt over KK.
The main problem for me was that it ultimately came down to Strome vs KK. Once Strome was deemed well enough to play Kakko was announced out. That is GG being a "players coach" and trusting his veteran center and wanted to do right by him. That was a mistake and Strome clearly should've been sat for Kakko.
I guess I'm not absolving GG of blame here I just think his bad decision was actually Strome>KK not Hunt>KK |

yeah to me it isn't Hunt or Kakko thats the problem, because everybody would have complained if Kakko was on 4th line anyway
the problem is more playing a severely compromised Strome instead of Kakko
if that game went into triple overtime they wouldn't have had the horses up front to play mega minutes

I would pay motte that money. Gotta get nemeth off the books. Motte only 27 and a perfect 4th liner and would be the number 1 pk with Goodrow |

I guess that is a pretty good way to think about it. Strome kind of screwed this situation by saying he could go. I think I (and many of us) are just looking at this as a Hunt for Kakko type swing and not the scenario you said. I know people have mentioned it but you put it in a clear way that finally made it click for me. |

I agree I wouldn't put an asterisk next to any win, that's playoff hockey. I think some fans are salty seeing us get this far but if we're being honest with ourselves the injuries definitely played a big role in keeping us alive at times. Credit to the rangers for taking advantage and I don't think we need to apologize for some good injury luck going our way but we shouldn't take other fans saying stuff like that so personally, especially because it is somewhat true.
Nobody is saying that about Colorado because they are clearly legit contenders and have been nothing but dominant for the past 6 months. |

I hope it doesn't strain the relationship. I finally bought a new jersey this year, my first since Kreider when he was young, and it was a Kakko jersey |

Maybe but I think this could be passable starting figures for the roster. Reaves is kind of looking out of place at this point.
The cap is gonna be way tighter than MDW's butt. |

I've been so close to buying a Kakko jersey for so long. I wanted to get his jersey from Finland or something more unique but I can't find one. |

I should probably never buy a jersey again. The last 4 jersey's I have purchased in order:
Richards
Gaborik (though I think this was post trade and I wore it to an LAK game)
Nash
McDonagh |

I was between him and Laf and at the time I bought it Kakko was really finding him game and Laf was struggling a bit. Wish I went Laf now but I still love Kakko's game and hope we can keep him around.
He didn't show up on the scoresheet much but I think he was a huge reason that line was as successful as they were this playoffs. He constantly made plays at the blue line to keep the puck in the zone and the pressure on. I'd love for him to turn into a Marian Hossa type player |

Luckily Fox IS his favorite player...I also got him a Youth Lg/XL b/c the S/M wouldn't fit in a couple years. He's like "Dad?.....what the flip?"
