I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kakko traded, but it won’t be bc he got sat in game 6. If they trade him it’s bc the organization thinks they can replace him with Othmann or Kravtsov and use Kakko to upgrade at center. I think it’s a mistake to trade him, but it all depends who we get back in the deal. |

Impressive playoff. As long as you have Shesterkin in net and Trouba on the back end taking the other team’s best players out with elbows to the head your team will have an extra advantage. That’s a heck of a strategy. |

Like i said before, “pretenders”
Hard to win a Cup relying that heaving on your goaltender & not being able to consistently put the puck in the net
Rangers are gonna need to score more if they want a legit chance to go all the way - jdfitz77
Pretenders? I dont think making it to the ECF is something pretenders do.
Leave it to the Sabres fan to say something like that. |

Every fan saw this during the year 5v5. It’s not like they have a poopty roster. They were a playoff team just not contenders |

Vitali Kravtsov signs a one year extension with the Rangers? Detente or paving the way for a trade?

I wonder, with Malkin a UFA, is it possible the Rangers make themselves a Russian line of Panarin, Malkin, Krav?
Where would we find the money? Thats a tough one. But Chytil, Vatrano and obviously Nemeth would have to go. I wonder if he would take 6m on a 1 yr deal. |

Why wouldn't he just get a much better contract almost anywhere else? Including the KHL. |

Much better? From who? The teams with loads of cap space are also teams that arent playoff teams. Pavelski just signed a 5m extension with the Stars, which Im sure involves a bit of discount, and Pavelski is an iron man. Malkin, who turns 36 this summer, comes with an injury history (only played over 70 games twice in the last decade), isnt much of a defensive player. However, he can still play and score.
Why would he go to the KHL right now with everything going on in Russia? Its definitely a legit possibility at some point but right now, I dont see it. |

Hes not ideal because of his age and injury history, but hes still a top notch hockey player. Paired with Panarin, the 2 of them could definitely lights out score and would be huge for us 5v5. It doesnt really cost us anything to get him, and it would be on a 1yr deal. |

Nearly every team in the league and some in the KHL would make significantly better offers than one year and $6m. It's utter delusional stupidity.

I dont see him getting a cent more than 7m in the NHL. The KHL is a whole different story, but as you clearly neglect, I again mention the situation in Russia and that cant very attractive.
Also, another point I made, hes made his money... Is he taking the most money he can get to be on a non-contender or is he taking 6.5m/7m to be on a cup contender? |

If the Rangers do trade Kakko, I wonder if they go back to JT Miller again. Drury wanted him bad last season. Not sure how the money would work but just throwing it out there |

The problem is do you trade a budding 21 year old for 1 year of Miller?
The money can work if they dont resign Vatrano. |

Yea he will. It’s a pipe dream just a great fit. Rangers need to decide if chytl is the 2c next year or not. If not I don’t think Copp is good enough either |

Then you are very ignorant. He can easily get over $7m on multiple seasons. Even from contenders. He is still a 1C caliber player so almost no team has a better 2C even with his poor durability.
Idk his politics. Maybe he likes Putin and dead Ukrainians. |
