Boeser's QO is 7.5m. - aecliptic
Woof. He’s not worth that based on the last few seasons. He’ll get less $ per year at a longer term |

The thing is, without a 1st round pick, theres no way we make a trade with VAN. I HIGHLY doubt our 2023 1st round pick is available. |

We have something arguably better than what is probably a later 1st round pick. Higher end Prospects that are NHL ready |

I dont see him getting a cent more than 7m in the NHL. The KHL is a whole different story, but as you clearly neglect, I again mention the situation in Russia and that cant very attractive.
Also, another point I made, hes made his money... Is he taking the most money he can get to be on a non-contender or is he taking 6.5m/7m to be on a cup contender? - aecliptic Geno's ask on a hometown discount with the Pens is reported to be 3 years/20 million which is a nearly 3 million a year pay cut. He isn't going to take less to relocate elsewhere nor will he do so for 1 year. Also consider that he isn't a guy who likes the spotlight at all, never has which is why he has been content in Sid's shadow for so long. He very well may be too uncomfortable to come to a huge media city like NY no matter the offer.

...and thats exactly the dollars Im expecting for him. Me talking about Malkin is purely hypothetical, I honestly dont expect him to leave Pittsburgh. |

Well, you guys have been gracious hosts. I have a hunch we will be crossing paths again next year. I will be keeping an eye on Shesterkin as next season progresses. I honestly think he is for real and not some one-hit-wonder. Russia can't make a car (or a tank) worth a poop, but they can certainly crank out elite goalies.
Now I have to go into the Avs threads and annoy them. I really don't know squat about the Avs outside of the obvious and I don't recall ever posting anything in their threads. So, I have no idea what kind of reception I'll get over there, or if their threads get any activity.
Any word yet on injuries to Rags players? I'm curious who was playing hurt besides Strome and Goodrow.

Something seemed off about Fox, I wouldnt be surprised if he had something nagging.

Doubling down on all in. Though this ownership group is 100% analytics based too. I understand why ownership would want the playoffs in the short term. Long term they should have been rebuilding. They're the Detroit of a decade ago. Perennial playoff appearances with no real contention. |

I don't think we have the money to sign Malkin, and honestly his injury history concerns me. He'll take a cut to stay in Pitt to finish his NHL career. |

Never happening bc of the cap. He’s just a very good 2c and good playoff performer |

IF we are trading Kakko I want it to be for a guy like Turcotte. Similar age, similar draft position etc etc. add whatever to either side to make it “fair” but I’d want that to be the center of a deal for Kakko.
LA is the perfect trade partner, they have Kopitar Danault Byfield down the middle with guys like Kupari and Vilardi still. |

I think theyre keeping him and grooming him to be the future 1C when Kopitar retires.
However going after Turcotte is a solid idea. |

I wonder if Garand is a good trade chip for us. They could maybe use a goalie prospect idk. But Peterson struggled this year |

And as long as I'm here, I'm surprised none of you have mentioned Chandler Stephenson as a possible center solution. Vegas is in serious cap hell, and with Eichel there he's back to their 3rd line, so you might be able to pry him away for the right deal. Solid top 6 center who proved he can play with elite talent, really good defensively, kills penalties, over 50% on faceoffs and signed to an absolute steal of a contract.
