You're talking about it like he laid out a roadmap to a cup win when all he said was I think they should keep this one player

Lol. This is exactly the type of shit the kids at work say before they get fired. 😉

Hey, just because you've been brainwashed to equate "productivity" into life value, doesn't mean it's the means to a fulfilling and accomplished life/society. 40 hours/week is such an arbitrary concept, much like school curriculum/focus is a holdover from the industrial revolution. It's this exact mindset we have to Logan's Run out of this fan base

He offered up two players who he may be willing to trade.

This is your video isn't it?

Out of the top 9 forwards, sure. This isn't a look at the team as a whole, I think you completely misinterpreted it.

The idea that the Canucks HAVE to trade Miller is predicated entirely on what imaginary return people think they would get for him. I personally don't think you can get close to the haul for him that people are hoping.

The team isn't close, but he's not wrong when he says people want to "tear it all down", but there's nothing to tear down, they want to tear down rubble only to build more rubble.

Wrong, watch the video. Forget about JTM ffs. There are 2 players this Chooch is willing to offload to fix the "holes", and the team doesn't need anymore draft picks.

*Video is titled "I do not think the Canucks should trade JT Miller"*

"Forget about JTM! That's not what this is about!"

I'm not saying I agree with everything he says, I just posted it to invite dicussion.

So you want to pick apart and critisize someones view of the team while offering no personal view as a way of remaining immune to critisism.

A younger player with substantial upside, either defense or forward, defense preferred, a 1st and either a prospect or another pick or 2.

Sure, anyone should be available. Neither he nor Demko would be my first choices to move but after 8 years of futility, anyone should be available for the right return.

See I just don't think you get that on the open market. Maybe I'm wrong, if I am, I'd be in favour of trading him.

Maybe, maybe not. First round picks were being moved for 3rd liners at the last deadline. There are a number of teams that are close with lots of younger players that are looking to get over the hump. I'm with you that Miller's stick swinging, open pouting and giving up on plays may cost a pick or prospect in a trade, though.

There's a pretty sizable gap between an early 1st and a mid to late 1st as well. Top 15, you probably have an NHLer, beyond that, the odds drop off pretty quickly, so there is the question of how good of a 1st would Van be asking for

The other option is to do a 'Benning' and keep him and then let him walk when he hits free agency.

Your video guy is proposing trading Garland or Hoglander.
