There are not a lot of us Lightning fans still on the buzz but there are enough of us to keep a blog active.

I have no predictions on this series, this is by far the best team each team has played.

I want to see the MacKinnon vs Cirelli matchup as Cirelli has been playing lights out D. I am interested to see how the Avs handle the neutral zone pressure the Lightning employ as well as can they handle the size and strength of the Bolts defense. Once you get thru those two things then you have to beat the Big Cat.

As for the Lightning I want to see how they handle the speed of the Avs, the quickness they go thru the neutral zone in transition and how they handle Makar when the Avs gain the O zone.

Looking for a great long series.

Mr. Stuart comes and goes. It seems like he has a busy day job and doesn't have consistent time to write for this site. I wish Ek would find a substitute blogger to fill in the gaps.

I think both teams are running into something harder than their previous matchups. The Avs have yet to face a goalie of Vasi's caliber. The Bolts have yet to face a team with this much offensive firepower depth.

Regardless of what happens, I have a half bottle bourbon, a fistful of edibles, and a cigar for tonight. Hopefully it's happy drinking.

How much sandpaper does the Avalanche bring, and how dirty are they willing to play?

I ask because I don't watch many games in the West and I am not familiar with much of the Avs roster beyond their stars. For example, I know Kadri plays with an edge, but not much else.

The Lightning know how to play with an edge and they have a few poop-disturbers like Perry and Maroon on the roster. Cernak has an edge and can fight. Kucherov can be dirty. I just wonder if the Avs can play that game also. They have a reputation for overwhelming firepower, but I don't know much about their toughness or edge.

Of course, the Lightning have little incentive to play dirty because the last thing you want to do is start killing penalties against the Avs power play.

I would say Kadri/Landy/Manson and even MacK to a degree will play with an edge, we do have some that will hit/forecheck and be a pest that way, but not so much causing havoc otherwise

Just heard that Point is in tonight but Hagel might be out. And Cal Foote is in. I bet his dad Adam has mixed allegiances.

Looks like Bolts are going 11-7 tonight if Hagel is out. That means Kucherov will probably be double-shifted.

There are also some people who will say Landy is prone to making bad hits like the one he laid on Yamamoto, but to me that's just a big man hitting a very small man and crap happens. I really doubt there will be a lot of stupid crap, both teams know what is at stake for each of them and Bednar has the Avs playing very disciplined.

Welp, I'm out. Write this one off and hope for a split.
