I don’t see it that way. If I’m dealing with the Ducks, I’m looking for a goalie. If there are other things I absolutely have to do to make a deal, then I consider those things but this is way too much.
If we’re looking for another forward, is Comtois the guy? We’re giving up two forwards for a rental.
I’ve said before I’d rather deal with Mrazek separately, just buy him out or do a straight out trade. Adding such a negative value into an important trade makes getting a goalie - a top priority - unnecessarily complicated.
I’m talking more in general terms - Canada Cup
I like Comtois. He's a guy I've talked about wanting before. So my opinion on him would probably be biased.
I mean, looking at the trade alone and nothing else, I'd say the Leafs probably win it easily. Even if they're giving up the best player. It creates a hole, yeah, but they should be able to patch them up with 3 1sts at their disposal. So getting a good goalie who has the ability to be great, and a player I like in Comtois, is good personnel additions. With the bonus of assets to try and acquire Chychrun.
I'd be trying to get the Ducks to retain more than 25%, though. |

Well if such a proposal works, it's because the Ducks cannot wait to get rid of that 6.4M cap hit for the next 5 seasons and they have lost faith in Gibson.
Which brings the question: Why would the Leafs want to acquire it, only in the hope Gibson regains his form.
Sounds like a pretty damn big risk. - Scabeh
Pretty sure interested teams have analyzed the poop out of Gibson.
27 year old Elite goalies like that who don't have an injury history probably do not lose their talent like that.
It is most likely a product of his environment. I think he plays well on his new team next season. |

Complicated for us armchair GMs to predict a trade yes.
Not for Dubas. A team who gets Mrazek will be a rebuilding team that could use some help getting the the cap floor...If the Ducks trade Gibson the Ducks are that team. |

Gibson has terrible body language when he gets scored on. Death stares at his teammates, eyerolls, etc. He's worn out his welcome in Anaheim.
Hard pass on this guy.

Yeah, I don't think Gibson is a cap dump.
He's a really good goalie on a pretty bad team. |

I wouldn’t touch Comtois unless I got a lot of assurances he was not one of the 8 tangled in the world jr scandal. |

If Jesus comes back I bet he’ll be pissed at all these people professing love of him by wearing symbols of the torture device that was used to kill him.

Every Shrove Tuesday, Dubas will come out from his tomb and if he sees his shadow he will be able to tell us how many more weeks of winter we will have. |

Invalid. You should be either progressing numerically or alphabetically. You can’t go goalie 1, goalie b and expect to be taken seriously on a place known for its intellectual rigour like, oh look at that butterfly
