Every league has there own rules on that, if your team isn't a sh!t show you really shouldn't need to worry.

Johnson and Portillo are on the prospect camp invite list. If they don't show, then I'll be worried.

The better the player the less likely they are to wait 4 years to turn pro. The system is rigged in favor of the NHL teams and against prospects/younger players.

Very True!! I just don't like the theory of not drafting College kids because they might not sign. Basically have that in every league. If you have a well run Organization, it shouldn't be a problem. Sucks to say but the Sabres bring a lot of this crap on themselves, just horribly run the last decade.

It's just backwards to me. You have an advantage taking non-CHL players later in the draft because you hold their rights longer. This isn't a college problem, it's just where lower rated players go and sometimes they end up being late bloomers. The exact same thing happens with the Euro leagues.

The combination of a below average team/organization and college bound is a high risk.

To me, it is a combination.

Could be, but most leagues have a out if the player chooses it, whether it be 3yrs- 4yrs or European. These kids aren't stupid, they see things and hear things. Lot of those college kids are well of already, what's 1 more year of school and then I have my choice.
