lol, another wonderful job by Fletcher. It’s like he’s trying to lose his job to get away from the Flyers. |

Kevin Weekes saying Chuck has offered Torts the job
https://twitter.com/Kevin...&t=qbqMNZbAcOmX911vn-uBIw - Flyerfan2868 It really does feel like Torts is their guy. I'd probably would have preferred Trotz or Cassidy over Torts, but at least it ain't Tocchet. If they would have hired Tocchet I would have officially turned in my Flyers fan card. |

I hear that. I'm ok with Tortorella being the guy....although if they wanted a solid shot at Bedard, hiring Tocchet would've been the play |

Is this from an expert point of view or no? If not is it just an opinion. If it's just an opinion, what makes it different from the opinion offered from those you label an "expert"?
Then after that, we can deal with the contradiction in your post. In your premise, Cassidy says no way he would consider the Flyers. Then you say it has nothing to do with our organization. Well what does it have to do with then? Then you call the team a mess and that you wouldn't blame any coach who would be reluctant to take it on. Yet you sarcastically call others "experts". - MJL
Sorry if I was unclear. I meant nothing to do with our organization in that it may not be Fletch or anyone else's fault that we didn't land Cassidy. I believe you even stated that maybe Cassidy said no thanks to the Flyers. My point is that it's no use blaming Fletch or any of the knuckle draggers for not landing Cassidy. There is a possibility that Cassidy may never have been an option. Thank you for immediately correcting me. I will strive to be more clear in the future. By the way, who would be your first choice as coach for the Flyers? |

I hear you! I didn't want Tocchet but really thought Tocchet would be the guy if he was interested in coaching again. I didn't figure Trotz would want to come here so I preferred Torts till Cassidy was available.

Maybe Fletcher just made a mistake. He meant to offer it to Trotz but he got some letters mixed up and accidentally offered it to Torts.

Well, at least post game press conferences will be interesting. Cant wait to see how often Risto is a healthy scratch or benched in game. |

Torts was offered the job, but did he accept?
I mean this probably indicates he's the new coach but is their any possibility Torts is like " on second thought, naaahhhh" |

Usually when the news starts coming out like this its a done deal.
He wouldn't have been my choice, but I also have no doubt he will improve the team defensively and help Hart.

Greatly disappointed in Fletcher and his staff. You had two gifts thrown in your lap with the availability of Trotz and Cassidy, and after all this time you end up offering the job to Torts?? You could have brought Torts in last season if you really wanted him, why didn't they? I'm out! I'm off the train... wake me up when this nightmare is over! |

Really, the organization is a mess and you wouldn't blame Cassidy or any other coach for not choosing it. Fletcher doesn't have anything to do with it being a mess? Yes, I did say that but I didn't say that it has nothing to do with the Flyers organization. Sure it is of use to blame Fletcher. You make poorly thought out statements while sarcastically calling others "experts". In comparison, it seems that they are.

How do you know what information they had. Cassidy was never coming here. Did they offer to Trotz? Until we have all the information as much as possible. We don't know fully what went on. |

For now, Torts is the right guy. Most of us have been complaining (right or wrong) about what appears to be lack of passion and effort (not to mention top end talent). Add all those observations to the reality that CF and the Comcast Flyers are NOT going to blow it all up and truly rebuild, then Torts is our guy. Effort effort effort and accountability will be fun to watch. Perhaps with kids like York, Cates, Tippet, Frost, Brink etc learning the right way (100% and hard every game every shift) they will have a good foundation at the professional level. Bad example watching the veterans kind of give up. If all the stories about Provy not being happy were true, we’ll hang on. He could either become a star under Torts or quickly find his way outta here. Gonna be fun |

Everything is a bad choice...until proven wrong.
I keep hearing Ristolainen being benched by Torts, I wouldn't be shock one bit if Provorov gets in the doghouse and he asks for a trade.
If Torts had issues with Larry Brooks, wait until he reads what the Eagles Sixers Phillies Flyers beat writers have for him. |

You make the statement that Cassidy was never coming here as a matter of fact. What are you basing this on? Isn't is possible Vegas was just much more aggressive than the Flyers were in regards to getting him? |

Can't disagree though I hate to admit it. It was clear Clarke wanted Torts and voila, here he is! For a guy who is out of the loop in Florida playing golf every day, its clear who runs the Flyers still to this day. |

I have zero doubt they wanted Trotz. Otherwise Torts, who had no interest from other teams, would have been hired long ago.
Also have no doubt they made a Trotz a big offer. Hopefully it gets out.
