now watch Vegas trade for DeBrusk, and then sign Bergy...... - 77emac77
Unfortunately they are a team in even worse cap hell than the Bruins. Going to be some deals this off season.
Maybe Vegas will finally learn what a no trade clause is |

Vegas is in a league of there own when it comes to cap hell. I guess that's what happens when you go after the most expensive player available for three straight years.
They can have Debrusk and some cap savings for Marchessault please.

There we go. Send DeBust to play for his favorite coach. |

Honestly I can’t even really comment on a coach until some direction with this roster and team are laid out. The cap hell Sweeney put this team in without a #1 Center signed is frightening. The best chance is Bergeron comes back on a bit of a discount. I’m hoping Bergeron is in talks with Sweeney and has some influence on the next coach. To me the guy driving the bus is #37. If he’s out I don’t care who the coach is, the team is likely headed for the Bedard sweeps. |

This - dothedougie
At this point - that's a good thing.
No chance of trading futures for a rental and getting boot in 1st round.
I'm half hoping Bergeron just retires - this season is a right-off. Might as well start the sell-off (if that's even possible) and rebuild.

Bergy just won his 5th selke. Had elbow surgery and the team outlook for next year doesnt seem that appealing. Plenty of reasons for him not to come back but its bergy so we will see what happens.
Its time for a new core and to build around it. The window is closed. |

They have a new core already to build around (Pasta, McAvoy, Lindholm, Swayman)...just missing centers. |

Yes, as of right now. I would build around that too. Not sure if i would consider Lindholm a part of the core yet. Lets see what a full season of him brings. And no Marchand? Curious
Consider for a moment how minds could change once your team is no longer playoff team. Things could change in that regard after a bad season or two.
That being said, adding a center to that mix you listed would be a great group to build around if it all works out. |

Didn't include Marchy because he doesn't have much tread left on the tires not that I would think of moving him.
The big issues for this season is the delayed availability of Marchy (assuming Bergy is back). Sure Gryz won't be there either but he's not a great loss. Of course they could perhaps get by with Debrusk and Lysell to fill a line until Marchy is back. |

and it could be a full year before Marchand is recovered from the double hip surgery
edit: thats back to full speed and strength, not just back on the ice |

Kind of important. Not easy to acquire - and we don't have the cap-space.
And who knows if Pasta will re-sign after this year.
How the heck do Bruins have a projected Cap-hit of $80M without a 1C ?????

They are fine. Coyle moves to 1C (he has clearly earned it), Huala stays at 2C, Freddy at 3C and Nosek at 4C. They are golden! Throw in Beecher and Mclovin' as fill-ins if one or more of those don't work out and we have a prime roster. |
