Always liked the Avs. Sakic was my fav back in the day.
Makar is from just down the street from us. He’s a couple years older than my son but we knew him and still see him when he is back in the summer.

Sakic is like he was as a player. Just humble and thoughtful and sticks to it. He’s put together a hell of a team.
I coached my sons team for 9 years. We’ve had two former flames players that had kids on our teams too. And they’d come on the ice as on ice helpers when they could which the kids loved of course. It was always a little surreal to have them come on ice and ask me what I wanted them to do. Lol. I’d just give them a station and tell them to teach the kids to skate or shoot or whatever. Good times.

Gah, you Canucks and your Canadian privilege. I came from a relatively hockey crazy part of the States but my parents told me it was too expensive to play. So football it was. The closest interaction we ever had with an NHL player was, and you aren't going to believe this, my mother was a police officer and she once served Mario Lemieux himself a speeding ticket. Of course, he didn't pay it but we got some really cool signed calendars out of it!

That was a beatdown for the ages. I had COL in 6 and that might have given TBL too much credit. Colorado dominated game 1 and only Vasilevskiy kept them in it. Outside of goaltending, Avs are the best roster by far. Completely dictate play with the league's best defense. And their forwards are excellent too.
