Woke up early because my sleep schedule is (frank)ed. Decided to take a numbers look at Andrei Kuzmenko.

So Alexander Barabanov, he was a prized Leaf free add two seasons ago. Didn't get much of a shake in TO and was traded to SJ for Antti Suomela also an undrafted older player.

Anywho before the trade Barabanov had 1 point in 13 games with the Leafs and 7 in 9 games with SJ after. Couple games with both AHL teams.

This past season Barabanov put up 39 points in 70 games with the poopty offensively disappointing Sharks. Which was 4th among Sharks forwards.

They both played with SKA for many years. Barabanov is a bit older but looking back at same age years, their stats line up pretty evenly with Kuzmenko pulling ahead just slightly throughout the years.

Well, there is Truth & Reconciliation Day (end of September I think), which is even sadder.

“9 years ago Cale Makar was an 8th round pick in WHL Draft. Since then he’s won 2 AJHL titles and MVP; NCAA MVP (Hobey Baker), 1st round NHL pick, World Junior Gold, NHL Rookie of the Year, won the Norris Trophy in his 3rd year in NHL & very well could win Conn Smythe this year.”

The guys an idiot and a criminal. There’s congressional hearings ongoing down here right now about the January 6th events. I assume he’ll be charged at some point.

I just don't know. I like the potential in near future but not sure this team would end up in the playoffs. Younger, faster, more physical. Filled holes of 3lc and right handed Pker. 8M in cap space.

Pretty sad.
Drance is one of the biggest idiots in the media. They let anyone vote, which reduces the credibility of the awards.

Sorry NYN, just stating my opinion.

I mean, he does drive conversation, and occasionally make a good point. But whatever. They don’t actually let “anyone vote”, and I bet there are far worse hockey media voting from eastern markets. But somebody worse doesn’t make it ok for somebody bad, the classic Benning defense.

I don’t really care who wins these stupid awards.

Meanwhile you have teams with high end talent in the west that have to compile video and send it back east to make a case for the player. Just the way it is.
