A 99 point center is worth how much? Serious question.
Miller cost the Canucks a 1st (20 OA) a 3rd and Marek Mazanec
he had 47 points and a career high 56 before coming to Van. He has since put up,
72 in 69 games
46 in 53 (Covid year)
and 99 points last year.
and is making $5.25
What is his worth? It HAS to be more than what they paid. - carsonagenic
Miller is 29, Columbus is in a rebuild mode.
Sillinger was a steal last year, I doubt very much that Columbus would part with him and Bean let alone throw in the 13th oa pick with it |

Drance with some great detective work!
Drancer on Boeser: The overwhelming likelihood in my view is that he ends up accepting his qualifying offer or is dealt. For me those are the two most likely outcomes.

I mean he's basically saying odds are slim that Boeser is signed to a multi-year deal right now so that's pretty interesting.
I know the guy had a brutal year personally, but trading him is the right move. |

Still, the question remains. What is a 99 point L1C worth signed at $5.25 mil? If the CBJ offer doesn't match do to their "rebuild mode", what about teams like Washington then or LA that is ready to compete or Buffalo needing offense and having picks?
My post wasn't so much the CBJ deal, but looking for a value of what Miller is worth. He cost a mid 1st, so getting one back is a push, a good / great prospect should be the value he has gained in his 3 seasons of increased production to the 99 point season level and a top value contract in the league, and we gave up a 3rd and a throw in goalie as well in the original TB Miller deal. CBJ picked up Bean for a 2nd so once again not that much of a difference between those assets given up. |

Potentially the right move depending what you're getting back. I do think he will rebound. I do think he will rebound with a good season.

Philly seems desperate and dumb, that's the #1 team I'd be calling right now. |

I don't think many, if any, teams being interested, at his QO rate.
Going to be a tough player to trade, maybe Ottawa. |

He'll rebound scoring-wise. But as an impact player, who dries play, I don't know.
To me he's a high end 3rd piece you add to a line as a finisher, but the other 2 linemates have to be puck carriers because Brock sucks at carrying the puck. |

Yeah, you'd have to target teams desperate for scoring that want to make the playoffs like Philly, Ottawa, Islanders, Kings and see if they'll give up something decent.
Otherwise you deal with the QO, let him rebound next year under Bruce and then explore trades at the TDL. |

Yeah, I'd agree. Not worth 7.5M (thanks benning) but you still need those guys that can score on a line. We all remember Mason Raymond who was fast / could carry the puck but could never score lol

For sure, but at 7.5M I'd want a guy who can carry the puck can score. |

I really like Formenton, but apparently he was on that junior canada team that was involved in that alleged sexual assault case so too risky to trade for him until he's in the clear. |

They'll be more interested in Miller, they need a center to replace Backstrom |

I like the Islanders. If you could get Dobson and a 1st (this year?) that would be a win. Maybe you have to take some salary back to get it done, not really sure what that would look like.
Edit - sorry, thought this was Miller… Boeser ain’t getting you Jack squat in trade |

Isles fans love Dobson, some think he's their new #1 dman ahead of really solid dmen like Pelech and Pulock so that's a bold statement
They laugh and hang up if you offer Boeser for Dobson
edit: saw your edit..dont think they'd do Miller for Dobson straight up either. |
