I like the Islanders. If you could get Dobson and a 1st (this year?) that would be a win. Maybe you have to take some salary back to get it done, not really sure what that would look like.

Edit - sorry, thought this was Miller… Boeser ain’t getting you Jack squat in trade

Isles fans love Dobson, some think he's their new #1 dman ahead of really solid dmen like Pelech and Pulock so that's a bold statement

They laugh and hang up if you offer Boeser for Dobson

edit: saw your edit..dont think they'd do Miller for Dobson straight up either.

Drance with some great detective work!

Drancer on Boeser: The overwhelming likelihood in my view is that he ends up accepting his qualifying offer or is dealt. For me those are the two most likely outcomes.

(Halford & Brough)

- VanHockeyGuy

Better to walk away from Boeser than pay him $7.5MM. I’d love to take him to arb or toss his ass out of town. Go Alvin!

Still, the question remains. What is a 99 point L1C worth signed at $5.25 mil? If the CBJ offer doesn't match do to their "rebuild mode", what about teams like Washington then or LA that is ready to compete or Buffalo needing offense and having picks?
My post wasn't so much the CBJ deal, but looking for a value of what Miller is worth. He cost a mid 1st, so getting one back is a push, a good / great prospect should be the value he has gained in his 3 seasons of increased production to the 99 point season level and a top value contract in the league, and we gave up a 3rd and a throw in goalie as well in the original TB Miller deal. CBJ picked up Bean for a 2nd so once again not that much of a difference between those assets given up.

- carsonagenic

Again, what we paid was irrelevant. That’s a sunk cost that may or may not be recouped. You love calling him a 99 point center lol. One outlier year most likely

I don't think many, if any, teams being interested, at his QO rate.
Going to be a tough player to trade, maybe Ottawa.

Any Canuck is a tough player to trade!

That's why they hang onto them or let them walk!

The question is how many teams are interested? That will determine the market value.

Yup - it’s a tough trade to win: maybe he isn’t dealt until the deadline. Fortunately, I can’t the see the new regime getting bent over like Benning

Me too. I was right there with wanting him being the Canucks pick if Hughes was off the board at our pick.

Once again we can agree on NO more Benning Bendover's. Just don't let him walk for nothing.

There are no leaks with JR just like Lou Lamoriello who tells the other teams, "if it gets leaked the deal is off". I'm pretty sure at least 3 teams are interested.

You are sniffing glue man. They wouldn’t do Dobson straight across for Miller let alone add a first.
