He's going to make 9 million he's one of my favorites but that's going to hurt going forward in 2 years .

I wanted us to draft him that year so bad but I also do not want them to trade for him at this point.

One of my favorites that draft with Day, fox, Hagel.

Oh well

I never said he didn't have good years left just the money wouldn't work for the team when you have dahlin, cozens etc to sign going forward

Ah. Yeah something to consider. I think they could manage it though. But I see your point.

So, who is my man Kevo like? Does he actually like Korchinski? Kid's got some real Quinn vibes.

Korchinski is nice but I don't think his game will translate well at the next level I don't think he will be a bust just a up/ down careers like Ceci, Pouliot

Miller is my favorite Sabre. Does retiring his # make sense?

No but I'd say the odds of it happening are pretty high.

I think Mogilny's number should have been retired by now, honestly, but I'm not mad Tuch is wearing it.

The guy had both the individual excellence and career excellence that will put him in the hall of fame. That's more than some of the other retired numbers can say.

If the Sabres surprise people and draft Kevin Korchinski at 9th overall, is it actually a positive sign that they're drafting who they think is the best player available regardless of position, instead of focusing on positions of need?
- kingcong39

No. There's a limit. Exceeding it forces a trade.

If anyone thinks otherwise, are you willing to go LD with all 3 1sts?

There's a couple of prospects that I believe will not hit the calling but have ok Careers.

Teams just have to be Careful on developing might take a lot more time to reach a certain calling because of covid

Does anybody think Brett Murray might have a chance at making the sabres roster next year?

I remember him being good as long as he didn’t have the puck on his stick a lot.

He had a very similar career here to Luongo in Florida and Florida retired Lou's number:

Lou: 11 years, 572 games, 230 wins, .919

Miller: 11 years, 540 games, 280 wins, .916

So the precedent is there for sure

Doubt he's that high on there board, but unless you have a trade or another prospect graded pretty close why move away from your board. LD isn't a huge need, but it just gives you more usable assets down the road.

I think a team could use him like the Lightning use Corey Perry. 12 minutes a night and put him on the PP, even if it's PP2. I'd just park him in front of the net.

Dude has terrific hands around the goal and he can screen the hell out of a goalie due to his size. I think he'll end up logging 100 career games in the league. Or he won't. We'll see.

I realize I'm very much alone on Brett Murray Island

Agree, needs to find that team that has the ice time. Maybe Arizona or Seattle
