Haven't done enough analysis to really give a proper tier list so I'll give you the 10 ive got so far, subject to a lot of change if I do a proper write up.

1.Nemec
2. Wright
3. Cooley
4. Kemell
5. Mateychuk
6. Nazar
7. Yurov
8. Savoie
9. Jiricek
10. Lekkerimaki

Honorable mentions, Isaac Howard, Liam Ohgren, and Juraj Slafkovsky

He advocated a bit for the Sabres to consider him at 8th overall when most mocks had him in the 20's, then Carolina took him at 13.
- kingcong39

You're both right. I had him category 3, ranked 10th in my draft primer. But leading up to the draft I was fully on board. The more data I got on him the more it looked like a sure thing.

Carolina taking him was infuriating.

I believe he had him at the ( Maybe) section in category 3 but described his skating and skill will be the reason to make it which was correct.

Seth Jarvis was very underrated in that draft beacuse of everyone else .

Byfield is giving me logan brown vibes now which stinks

It is always an interesting discussion between people that think players look good on the ice and then assessing whether they are providing positive tangible results or not.

Seems highly likely the top 5 are known between the big 3 forwards and the top 2 defensemen.

The Sabres pick of Quinn looks sharp now, provided he can stay healthy.

Yeah it just goes to show at this level we only really see part of the picture. And even then, outside of the top 2 or 3 in any given draft, a lot of it comes down to player development.

Among many important lessons in The Big Short, one that applies with prospects is disregard the misconceptions and group think.

That results in missing small when you do miss but hitting big when you do hit.

I shouldn't have left out trading up for Peterka either.

I'm with Lunaion in hoping that Ventura has a large voice in the management room.

I haven't scraped the advanced stats that are available for Liiga yet so that may have a big impact.

I was, and still lowkey kind of am, very against that. Nothing against JJ, I mean in general, you rarely ever add value trading up.

It's not talked about cause Peterka had a remarkable AHL campaign, but the picks the Sharks got were Bordeleau and Savoie, both of whom had strong college seasons and looked very good in limited AHL action.

I'm hoping this is an exception, and they've got a read on Peterka's game that shows he's got what others there didn't.

If you're going to trade up, you better be right, and so far, they sure look right about Peterka, and that's what matters in the end: being right.

Yep, you can tell that was definitely a scout based selection though. His Dev path is very unique. I don't think anyone has gone from pedestrian DEL numbers to crushing the AHL from year to year.

Snuggerud and Trikozov are up there for me too. Idk enough about slafkovsky yet, hopefully I'll get a chance to look into it more.

I have high hopes with the department that has been put together, think they had a good draft last year.

They reached a bit with Quinn and Rosen. Just wouldn't be shocked if they do it again.

I think a team could use him like the Lightning use Corey Perry. 12 minutes a night and put him on the PP, even if it's PP2. I'd just park him in front of the net.

Dude has terrific hands around the goal and he can screen the hell out of a goalie due to his size. I think he'll end up logging 100 career games in the league. Or he won't. We'll see.

I realize I'm very much alone on Brett Murray Island

- Hank Balling

There isn’t a spot for him on next year’s team

But he could earn one on the 4th line the following year if Okposo & Girgensons are not back

Gerbe I'm serious, if your dad works for the Sabres you should try to become a scout for them because we would be absolutely set so like seriously why aren't you the head scout?

How far do you have Jiricek falling. And if he fell to 12 with Columbus would you go and get him.
