I always felt they can get 1 not both. Letang should be the priority. If Malkin will take under $7m do it. They still need more F support. - sammy87
I was thinking 5 million for Malkin tops. |

I'm kind of prepared for Tanger and Geno to go elsewhere, I wont be shocked...however what I wont be able to digest easily is if they take deals the Pens absolutely should of matched/signed them to. Hex's head on a stake if that happens with one or both of them. - MattStrat
What is that deal though? We mostly all admit these have a high potential to be bad contracts. Letang wants 1D money until he's 40, no way that works out. I think we do want them signed largely for nostalgia, at least I do.
But if Hextall goes another route and gets younger players at decent salaries with that money, I can't really say that's a bad decision. |

Yeah but that’s because you’re a typical room temperature IQ construction worker. |

It hurts more because if they lose him they hung on to 4 crappy years of nostalgia and got nothing in return. - sammy87
Hahaha god damn are you embarrassing. Yeah 216 points in 197 games is 4 crappy years. Jesus you are a clown.

ERod carried the load not Carter. Carter was a minus player all year. He’s cooked. - Feds91Stammer
ERod sucked the entire second half of the season. If he wasn't put with Blueger the final ten games or so he would have finished a minus and an even bigger disappointment. |

Well my post wasn’t suggesting all construction workers are like that but you know there’s plenty of them. |

No poop. This was about “Carter carrying the load” when Sid and Geno were out. |

If this was five years ago then you absolutely roll the dice and see what you have, but it's not five years ago. I definitely think one or two should get a shot, but time is not on the Pens side and they need proven players right now. - Rinosaur
Playing the young guys, WBS-5, won us two Cups five, six years ago. |

No Crosby, No Malkin and Carter carried the load for the Pens to start the season. I like Blueger but do you really think he would have carried the load as a 1C? No chance.
I think the Blueger could make a decent 3C but Carter is a way better player. - MacPatty
Nobody carried the load when Sid and Geno were out. We were in seventh place when Crosby returned.
Slight correction, Jarry is the only reason we weren't in last.
Yes, Blueger could have done just as good or better than ERod or Carter, given the chance. |

Yup. Six years ago. Sid and Geno were different players then. Right now the Pens need to outfit the lineup with more impactful players. |

Haha. Grow up. He’s not Lemieux or Crosby. Pro athletes change teams. - Grinder47
So you'd be okay with Crosby going to another team? Or are you saying Crosby isn't a pro athlete? |

Right...which seems to imply that Crosby and Lemieux are not professional athletes because, as you said, "Pro athletes change teams." |
