Just the talk about not resigning Strome, if KD doesn't retain his rights even if it's by arbitration then we are in for a long painful journey with KD. I can understand letting Kubs walk, totally get it. So if it does go to arbitration, play him on the Cat and Kane line, because they are not going anywhere, trade Strome at the deadline and recoup a 1st for him especially if he continues to play the way he did since January 1st. But what if he's actually better than last season? Then what?

What a stupid article. They're saying Byfield is a bust after 46 games in the NHL. What a dippoop site that is.

There's definitely some internet buzz attaching Kane with the Sabres. One of which was "The Windy City" something r other" offering 3 trade proposals. Two of them were dream proposals in my estimate with the likes of Cozens on one and Jack Quinn on the other (along with a couple 1st rd picks).

This reminds me of 07'ish when the Sabres were talking Seabrook and the Chicago fanbase wanted zero to do with him leaving for anyone. There's a similar feeling with the young and somewhat unproven youth the Sabres currently have. That and Kane being in the final year of his contract.

The 3rd proposal was Olofson, Middlestadt, our 16th and 28th pick. That's a lot to ask for still in my opinion for a player who turns 34 this year with 1 remaining year on his contract. I say this because Buffalo got Tuch with 5yrs at 4.7, Krebs on his rookie contract and Vegas' 1st rd pick in exchange for a 25 yr. old franchise center, in his prime with 5 years remaining on his contract.

I just don't see a kings ransom coming in for Kane. At least from the Sabres. Kane is better than anyone on the Sabres and it would be huge to have a guy like that. But the Sabres are putting together a team with pieces that complete the puzzle. Pieces that are also good for the locker room and want to be here.

Kane's reputation in Buffalo is not the greatest. Neither was Eichel's. For different reasons of course. But if there is a deal struck and Buffalo parts with valuable pieces and prospects... Kane's attitude and desire to be here will be a paramount factor that will be considered.

Or. Kane stays in Chicago. Which can't be a bad thing from a Blackhawk fans standpoint.

From an outsider looking in. I see the return for Kane being a little more than what Giroux left Philly for. Unless a contract extension occurs of course.

- JYD

Doubtful Kane ends up in Buffalo. Especially for the proposals in that article. I read it too. He may not be worth as much as many on here believe but a rookie GM that doesn't have to trade him isn't going to give him away for scraps when it comes to trading one of the franchises iconic players.

That's what i thought, 1st Strome, 2nd Dach and if they trade for Byfield it'll be the same thing all over again with this impatient group.

I see KD qualifying him, and just before arbitration Strome signs for $4.5 or something like that. Question is, is it a one or 2 year deal?

Yeah Byfield will be just fine in a year or 2 after he gains muscle.

Also he’s not being traded.

Kyle Davidson will learn "slow rebuild" and no talent on the team...will equate back to 5000 fans and no TV games

But a whole lotta "heritage nights" and "Bring back the Roar" 🤣🤣🤣

Back to poverty, penny pinching franchise 👍👍

Has the great Jeremy Colliton received any interest/interviews with all these job openings?

Teams should know if hiring him, he will need a full training camp to implement his system - so they shouldn't wait too long.

Elliotte Friedman reporting that he can see the Hawks being interested in Andrew Brunette as a coaching candidate.

Pierre LeBrun reporting that Brunette may not want to return to the Panthers with Paul Maurice as the coach there now.

Not that I am sure trading DBC is a great idea, I do understand the logic behind it .If the trade could land the Hawks NJ 2ND and maybe a top prospect that could be huge .Just reading today Habs not sold on Wright at number 1 What !! if the Hawks got Wright at number 2 , that would be Savardian huge . And maybe a prospect thrown in .Happy days ..

Lots of young wingers may be on the market. Read Laine maybe wants to go to LA, Vancouver shopping Miller and Boeser, Gaudreau a UFA. The supply/demand for wingers will effect the market for Debrincat, maybe to a degree that he is not traded.

So Toews doesn't know what a rebuild is, eh Theo? Nevermind that he was a cornerstone of the rebuild that netted the Hawks 3 cups in 6 years. What an asinine statement to make.....

my hope is Gradeau resigns the problem with brock and laine are both RFA's with ARB rights so that drives the price down till you know what the contract is. and miller is going to be 30 1/2 when the 23-24 season starts. nobody wants to give a guy 8 years when they are in there 30's. (seabrook). I still think Cat moves becuase if he does not kane and teows probably dont request a trade. I think that is part of the KD plan.
he knows he needs then to waive to help being bad and add more assets. 3 firsts and a propspect for kane and teows is a huge step to being better. I think teows gets you a first if you retain 50% and take back a bad contract.

Well you are right but just looking at NJ I don't see Miller or Liane as a fit ,Boeser will stay in Vancouver if they move Miller I think ..Johnny now he would be the guy for Jersey hometown connection right ,but I believe Calgary will find away to keep him .And if so DBC becomes the best fit for Jersey . If the Cat stays I am fine with that ,but if Wright there at # 2 I may take a little less for the Cat .

With every word I type I increase the chances of confusing the reader and myself about a very confusing topic so I'll keep it short. On Commesso not being at WJC Evaluation Camp.

He has not aged out, period. He's eligible to play in the WJC. Asked around to those who know and Chris Peters who worked for the USA Program for yrs responded when I asked has Commesso aged out. He said no but he doesn't know why he's not at camp but is diggin into it.

Hmmm. Perhaps then you’ve been “facetious” with several of your comments about 19.

Well I was thinking a little bit bigger - Maybe the Wirtz's will sell the team to the Hunters. ( I also thought if Old Man Wirtz was going to sell the team on his watch the Sutter's would have been the buyers. He respected that family).

Or he could have just been making a play on words form Toews own mouth.

"I don't even know what is expected of me as a captain".

From Jonathan Toews' perspective, he was excited "to know that this team will have some direction in the next little bit here" but still wasn't quite sure to what level Chicago's rebuild would be.

"I don't know if I really understand what that means yet," Toews said on March 3.
