Just think how good Seth Jones would look with that Avs group, holy poop. Bowen is pretty bad in his own end, fortunately because of his team mates and to him to some degree he doesn't have to.

Also JC imo was hurting the development of the young Hawks rather than helping. I have no issue with King staying on i think he's good for the kids. If you can't get the players to even understand what you want them to do how are they going to develop. Even though they started out 1-12 they seemed to play better as a unit once King took over problem is they struggled with consistency but to me that's just being young and not a pro yet.

I went from 80's to 70's golfer because i finally found someone who knew exactly what i was doing wrong when many others didn't. It took him less than 15 minutes

I seem to be stuck on evens either 2 or 4 over and it's vice versa on the front 9.

Not complaining at all.

That blue area directly in front of the Blackhawks’ net is where opposing teams were below league averages in shot generation, which means that opponents struggled to get the puck into high-danger areas while Murphy was on the ice.

This is from SCH, maybe it’s best to keep Murphy around with the youngsters, unless the Hawks get an offer for him that they can’t refuse.

How can that be? According to Dots, Murphy is a moron. Did you also see where Murphy is ranked on 5 x 5 defense? Definitely qualifies for top 4 pairing for any team.

Except Murphy is one or two more concussions away from becoming the next Andrew Shaw who'll spend the rest of his contract on LTIR. Trade him while he has some value.

The point is the young guys they have aren't good enough to help them succeed moving forward.

Also - as this playoffs is proving yet again is that strength down the middle is extremely important. Toews is no longer a top player, Dach hasn't proven anything and zee German was banished to north central Illinois for the season (looking great just like Tomas Jurco and until he proves anything in the NHL that's all he is).

Sometimes you get a late pick like a Pavelski or get lucky with a rare late bloomer like a Patrick Sharp but for the most part - those quality pieces you build around are drafted in the top half of the first round and you know they're good from the start.

Other than Debrincat and Jones - they have no build around pieces under 34 and that is a problem if they want to build the next group that can compete for more than a handful of seasons.

The Hawks aren't stocked, that wasn't my point. They have some young players who still have potential and development left. Most of the guys right now are performing below expectations.
The team hasn't been getting solid development of their youth for a while now, but at some point they need to find a gem from a late round or some other piece. No team is only built around top 10-15 picks. The Hawks do need to land a few good draft picks, but they need to in general do a better job of getting those players NHL ready, and able to play a solid game at both ends of the rink.

You make a good point. I just would like to see a veteran defensive defenseman playing with the kids. This past season McCabe didn’t show to be that guy, maybe with a year removed from surgery he will improve his game, we’ll see.

To me it really doesn't matter, it's about the players after Murphy, he'll give me plenty of ammunition during the season because he's just not that good and i don't know how to not care during the 60 minutes they are playing like others here.

Thanks literal police, when it comes to playing without the puck he is.

What they should do is put Dach at wing, cause he's got no hockey sense playing center

You’re not the only one on this board that doesn’t like Murphy. To me, he adds value to the team, whether on ice/off ice, or if he’s traded for another asset(s). He does his job, he’s not a top three defender, he’s a nice RD on the second pair on many NHL teams. Probably has more trade value than any other defenseman on the team, this is due to being RD, with size, and on a decent contract. JMHO.

Your right I see Buffalo as possible trade partner for him. 2nd and a goalie prospect

I hope he's in a position next season where he's not relied on to play so many minutes, i thought Regula and McCabe complimented each other well at the end of the season. If we are running Murphy and Stillman in there vs slower lines that would make me the happiest.

You take away the 1-12-2 i think start, the Blackhawks were 27-30-10.

If S Jones and Murphy play less minutes a game, and Murphy and Stillman since they are slower get favorable matchups, the Blackhawks could actually be better next year. Not playoff better but slightly better.

One thing is for sure I'm very happy deHaan and Gusto are in the wind.

That is correct, Dach sure did not show last year the vision or the hockey IQ to be a #1 or #2 center.

And the Hawks useage of him more at RW than Center towards the end of the year, they might be coming to the same conclusion.
