Crap, didn't realize that.

would you trade Nils Lundqvist to Montreal for their 2nd first rounder (from Calgary 26th overall) and their 2nd rounder (33rd overall)?

see I kind of think something like this is possible because I know Gorton loves Lundkvist and they have extra picks

Two seconds is a good haul. Could see Gorton making that trade to get his guy back.

One of Nils, Jones or Robertson should get traded to Mtl. Gorton drafted all 3. I think they’ll all be wasting away behind our current corp, so you almost have to trade one of them with the other two in the NHL as the 6 and 7th D. Maybe you sign a Braun or Smith for depth

I would like for them to move into the top 10-15 to draft Frank Nazar. I would move Nils plus for that

we have 4 picks in the draft, starting with the 2nd round.

That leaves the #NYR with only four picks in total in next week's draft (and only one in the first three rounds):

- 2nd-round pick (their own)
- 4th-round pick (Winnipeg's, which came as part of the Brett Howden trade)
- 5th-round pick
- 6th-round pick

This isn’t an issue right now. I’d try not to trade anymore lol but this is not that big of a deal. We are pretty loaded for awhile

I feel like people are going to start bytching about this because there is nothing else to complain about. I’m just glad Clark is gone

A 1 and a 2? Yes, but might be dependent on who is there at that spot.

The first rounder for Copp was the cost of doing business. The second moved to the 1 as a consequence of making the ECF, which we all were good with happening. Dealing the 2022 third rounder for Reaves still is meh in my view, which is what I said at the time of the trade. Understand what he brought to the locker room and somewhat on the ice but still high in my opinion. I was originally good with giving the three next year for Justin Braun but I felt he was a disappointment down the stretch and somewhat in the playoffs.

We had sooo many additional draft picks that we acquired in our rebuilding phase, I really don't have a problem essentially sitting out this draft. Plus , we continue to sign young UFAs like Rydahl, Scanlin, and Trivigno to replenish our pipeline. As long as its for one year only, I think we're good...

Next years draft is pretty loaded. They could move some defensive prospects to move into the first round this year if they want

We’re loaded on the wings for the next 3-5 years and our D should be the same for the next few years. We need to work on drafting centers, it’s amazing how it’s been a position of need for so long and yet we refuse to draft that position.

I think Drury started to address it in his first draft last year with Grubbe and Korczak

Othmann was an absolute steal 16th overall regardless if he’s another winger

But Gorton is gone probably for more than just one reason, not getting that reliable center somehow probably one of them
