Stop with this they will trade the 2024 Florida 1st. There is no chance that happens imo. To me that is just silly for where the Flyers are at. - hello it's me 2050
I'm not saying I would do that. I'm saying how incompetent can Fletcher get in trying to gain cap space? |

What Ghost did in Arizona is irrelevant. It wasn't gonna happen here. I am sure you disagree. Flyers misused RR. He should have bene on the PP for an extended look based on his prior production. At least then you may get some value out of him. Comical he wasn't used in that area.
Bad changes yes do not help. As I said they all have value individually. They can be moved in hockey deals. Talent will come back. This group has accepted losing. Changed coaches too many times. Move the players out. - hello it's me 2050
Its comical how bad the PP was and they still never tried it for an extended look

This is why I think they should just hold on to him until the deadline and get ANYTHING for him then. Then he is completely off the books next season and you can use that 7 mil then....Hence why I don't want him traded for Petry and basically have that cap space eaten up for 2 more seasons after that. Petry may be still a good player but he isn't worth that cap hit nor is he the right player for a team that should be rebuilding and banking cap space. - MBFlyerfan
This is the best play, so it will surely not be done. |

what would get a better return, cam or Couts? We could keep a vet no matter which one we choose. - bradster
It’s not about what you could get or who has better value. Cam Atkinson has zero future here as he enters his mid 30’s. |

RR is not a strong PP player... this is his effectiveness above a replacement player on the PP for every season of his career in BUF:
21-22 -0.04
20-21 -0.13
19-20 -0.06
18-19 +0.09
17-18 +0.03
16-17 +0.22
15-16 +0.11
14-15 -0.16
13-14 -0.01
RR's basically been no better than if you tossed a random AHL player on the ice
BUF started using him net front for a reason... he's not that good at the point. His big shot doesn't get through.
To put those numbers in perspective, Makar was +0.88 this season on the PP. |

How does that make sense? What’s a replacement player on a power play, a player who plays on the power play? He had a string of 20+ points on the PP, that’s not inserting an AHL player. |

It means exactly that... if you put Nick Seeler or Randy Jones or Ryan Parent out there in place of RR for all those minutes, they'd likely have generated the same results. |

Rasmus was on the ice for 250+ minutes on the PP in that stretch.
We've seen Freddy Meyer score 16 PP points for the Flyers in 05-06 in under 190 mins.
Points just come with icetime on the PP. |

I think someone mentioned it already. He was vocal about wanting Torts here. Don't see Chuck getting rid of the guy that has a relationship with Torts right after Torts becomes the coach. |

Travis has never gotten regular time on the top PP. 55 mins this season. 32 the previous. 62 before that. His career high is 84.
Risto was the only show in town for BUF during that 3-season stretch. He had 100-150+ more mins than the next closest defenseman. I'm guessing he pretty much got to stay out for extended shifts a lot.
With that kind of ice time advantage and a permanent spot on PP1, there are a lot of dmen who are capable of 20+ points in that situation. |

That stat is BS, Randy Jones isn’t touching 20 points let alone 3 seasons in a row. Moving forward I’d like to see Cam York featured as the PP1 Dman. |

the captaincy will come down to who feels like talking to the media... maybe they ask coots if he even wants, he recalls the pressure and scrutiny G went through all those years and says "nope, give it to Cam or Hayes" |

I posted the other day that Ristolainen's point totals were largely based on usage and ice time. I wasn't aware of the stats you posted previously but it makes sense to me.

BUF's PP was also pretty hot during that stretch. ROR, Eichel, Moulson, Reinhart etc were pumping in a ton of goals on the PP. There was one season when they were ranked #1 in the league even though they were one of the worst teams.
It was a whole bunch of things that came together to make RR look better than he really was on the PP. |

You don't find it strange that RR's PP scoring started drying up once Dahlin arrived there? If RR were so effective, why'd they start phasing him out on the PP so aggressively? |

And yet he’s just signed another contract paying him north of 5 million a year….man he has a lot of hockey professionals fooled. Good for him. |
