What's Cassidy, filet mignon? Or does he not count because of short time of availability - MJL
I don’t think I saw the Bruins enough to make a good judgement. He alienated some of his players but he got a lot out of them. I remember catching them late in the regular season a few times and thinking that they were the best team in the league as far as being disciplined in playing within their system. As you say, it’s a short sample but it looks like filet. Porterhouse for sure.

He's a complete player. - Flyerfan2868
As long as we ignore his deficiencies coming out of his own zone and his inexplicable weakness as a PP QB.
But yes, I agree, Torts will play the ever-loving poop out of Ivan, just like every other coach who has been thru here lately. Same with RR. Torts rode Seth Jones and David Savard for years. Ivan and RR will be those kinds of players for him.

He won't have much of a choice. Especially if Ellis is not available. A coach can only play who is on the roster. That's not a coaching issue. It's a GM issue.

Good stuff - MBFlyerfan
The part where Torts benches him for being out of position is messed up. Torts goes back and checks the tape and turns out Hartsy was never out of position on a single shift. Then proceeds to tell Hartsy he still just doesn't trust him on the ice despite the evidence. Like wut?
The rest are classic Torts anecdotes which are always entertaining. You might enjoy this one too, especially the part about Brian Boyle:

Haha because he knows Hartsy sucks in his own end regardless of whether or not he is in the right position.

You're assuming Provy is still here. I'm not sure he will be.
I agree with Bill regarding Laughton as potential captain. I think he displays the perfect demeanor on the ice. He sticks up for his teammates, plays the game with a snarl, and genuinely looks pissed when things aren’t going the team’s way (which, over the past few years, was plentiful). Haters are going to hate, but Laughts should be this team’s captain.

Please don’t name a Captain. The best Captains we’ve had in recent years in Keith Primeau, Mike Richards and Giroux came from time of reflecting on the leadership roles on those teams. Primeau was the right man for the job when the responsibility was too heavy in a short stint for Eric Desjardins in a room filled with leaders that included John LeClair and Mark Recchi. Richards took on the “C” after watching Jason Smith, Darien Hatcher and Peter Forsberg take short stints with the “C”. After this came Claude Giroux after Chris Pronger’s short stint and career ending injury when letting that season play out. Sean Couturier is the most deserving but you can question if the time is right. After all, he’s entering his 30’s, coming off injury and this will be his first season without Claude Giroux. Let’s let this play out first.
