Brind'amour didn't have much effect on him, and he looks like he knows what he's doing, so I dunno... - Pat1993
KK is a third line player ... I just don't see him ever being more than that. JMO
I hope the Canes will enjoy his big contract ... |

it was obviously a fail for the habs to draft him, but most projections had him becoming much more than a third liner. oh well, another proof that drafting players isn't an exact science.

Other than sucking more than just blood, ain't nothing wrong with gay vampires at all.
Also, Kadri might be a bit of a dirtbag dirty player, but remember how bad Leaf fans wanted him gone... seems like the kind of player they desperately need now.
Dagger in the heart! - Mashadar
imho, things started to go wrong for Toronto when they traded Kadri (what a bad trade that was) and signed Tavares. that completely (frank)ed up their salary scale.
before that they were ok with Matthews and Kadri as 1-2. yes Kadri made mistakes in the playoffs, he learned. all teams must learn to win.
since that trade/signing, they can't build a team, always in cap trouble, having to let good players go, sign plugs and oldtimers, no goalies, no depth....
time goes by and their star will hit the market without having won anything. |

They love their "big names" in TO .... it attracts ignorant asses in the seats ($$$'s) and gets the media excited. Even though less effective (in playoffs), Tavares sells more tickets than other more effective and less renowned centermen (a Mr. Danault comes to mind).
Building effective hockey teams has never been in the Leafs' DNA thus their mediocrity for 50 plus years.
Toronto has always been all flash and no substance. |

didn't they score their 1st one with the netmnder without a mask? Shouldn't the play be stopped immediately according to the rules when the goalie loses his mask? |

$4.8 Million per year isn't terrible for a defensively sound 3C who puts up 35 points a year. Especially as the cap increases.

Brind'amour played him on the 4th line all season.
KK put up more points per 60 than Trocheck or Necas and was 6th among Canes forwards in that stat, but only played less than 800 minutes.
His production greatly outpaced his linemates and several guys ahead of him in the depth chart. But Brind'amour was committed to giving him the full Svechnikov treatment this year. |

Keep telling yourself that.
Bottom line, KK can/should/will/might still grow.
If he doesn't, he's not worth that money and this whole thing was a mistake.
