Buddy of mine said a couple of fire crackers sent there way will spoke them enough that they typically won't come back. I'd try it first to see. Like I said, we're lucky. Mama and her cubs stroll by a couple hundred feet away and never look sideways. This is her second set. She had 2 a few years back as well.

Most amazing yet ferocious animal I've heard of would have to be a Wolverine. My cousin and his uncle on the other side worked for the oil companies in North Western Alberta through the 90's. They would helicopter in, and drop off in remote areas for a week at a time, mapping off new potential sites. They came across one, and thankfully had been warned what to do. You carry this fire cracker type thing that let's off a horrid sound. If that doesn't work... the 303 on the four-wheel was the back up plan lol.
