You should start a sentence with a capital.

“I think there are a lot of good players in the draft,” said Allvin. “I don't think there is a lot of difference between, I would say, maybe 4-5 and down to 15-16…I think our staff is pretty excited about picking 15th.”

Do they draft the next generation center or a top pairing dman? Getting a second 1st round pick would be ideal

I remember Canuck fans thinking the Canucks were contenders after losing to Vegas in the thingy.

They beat the defending Stanley cup champions in a seven game series.

Meh - The St. Louis Blues had an extended layoff where they couldn’t get going again. I chalk it up to extenuating circumstances, not a reflection of true reality. #truthbombs

You can chalk it up to whatever you want, doesnt change the fact that beating the defending champs is significant. They played unreal in that run, outclassed by Vegas and still almost won. Still something to build on, as the three best players in those series are our current best players

They beat the Bruins in game 8 as well, but what did it get them?

We’ll see if Horvat, Miller, Pettersson, Hughes and Demko are all still here long term soon enough.

KHL executive on Kuzmenko’s potential: “I think he’s a 50-to-60-points-per-season player if he’s trusted and played with good linemates. He will freak out a lot of NHL defensemen with the crazy number of cutbacks he does every game.” #Canucks

Bruce is going to give him the same speech he gave Garland.

Sat said his understanding is that there's no active contract discussions going on with Boeser and the Canucks right now.

Thinks Canucks may be waiting because they want to figure out what's going on with JT first.

(Canucks Central)

He did mention he got a text from someone last night that seemed to be convinced Boeser was getting traded. 💀💀

If he signs a one year ELC at age 26 is he an RFA or a UFA at the end of the contract? Do they need to wait until Jan 1 to start negotiating an extension?

I’ll hang up and listen to your answer.

Yes, I have the internet, I could ask and probably find the answer pretty quickly, but maybe you already know the answer and feel like flexing.

IDK. Pretty sure after ELC you are always an RFA right?

Capfriendly says his contract status when the current deal expires is UFA.

The UFA rules is x years (7?) in the league or 27 years old, so this makes sense.

Because he signed it this year, and it’s only a one year deal, I think they can work on an extension starting Jan 1, rather than having to wait until the off season, or like Miller who they can negotiate with a full year before his current deal expires.

Whitelie is a better capologist than me though.

I see. I said I didn't know.

I heard today that Leaf's Russian Ilya Mikheyev is seeking 4-5M on a long term deal. Pricing himself out of Van's range.

Canucks will just have to draft a few Russian's that drop in the draft to get up those numbers.

no I’m laying by our pool with an iPad. Not a keyboard. When you type fast it autocorrect’s “the” and “they” on occasion. I’m sure even Reuby could figure it out though. Wasn’t that difficult of a read.

None of this excuses the clear lack of proof reading. You're an adult ffs. Spell like one.

Five years ago, the Colorado Avalanche were the worst team in the NHL — not just bad, but historically bad.

They made the playoffs the next year and every year since. Now they're in the Stanley Cup Final.

What can the #Canucks learn from their retool?

Mackinnon, Landeskog, Rantanen, Barrie, Duchene.

All that talent and historically bad.

From Bulis about Kasper
https://www.vancouverisaw...raft-marco-kasper-5512967

The question for Kasper is about his ceiling. With his skating and physical play, Kasper will almost certainly make the NHL, but is his ceiling as a third-line forward or does he have the potential to put up points and be a legitimate top-six forward?

Kasper’s puck skills are fine. His vision and playmaking are decent. His shot is okay. At the NHL level, Kasper may not those skills to be more than fine or okay in order to be a point-producing top-six forward. With his diligence and coachability, he could improve in those areas but there are no guarantees.

Without that dynamic, offensive element to his game, some teams might be hesitant to spend a high pick on Kasper. In addition, his value could change if he is more of a winger than a centre. His SHL team intends to try him at centre next season but if he grades out as a winger, that changes things.
