Always loved Kadri.

I remember on the draft floor, on live TV, with full voice Brian Murray approaches Brian Burke and asks if the Leafs are interested in swapping picks with the Sens. Burke asks Murray who is the player that the Sens want to move up to pick. Murray says Nazem Kadri. Brian Burke says "that's our guy" and walks away

How many times do you think that tape gets played during draft week if the Avs go on to win the Cup?

I don't imagine it would get played at all.

Toronto loves their "big names" .... it attracts ignorant asses in the seats ($$$'s) and gets the media excited. Even though less effective (in playoffs), Tavares sells more tickets than other more effective and less renowned centermen (a Mr. Danault comes to mind).

Building effective hockey teams has never been in the Leafs' DNA thus their mediocrity for 50 plus years.

Toronto has always been all flash and no substance.

PS: I expect to be crucified in this board (and I probably deserve it) ... food for thought. Go at it.

This is nonsensical gibberish.

Only angle Sportsnet shows is half the ice and you only see 5 guys. Maybe there'll be a better angle by tomorrow.

EDIT: They just showed another angle, and still only 5.

Happy for Colorado but the refs really do suck at their job. It’s just usually the leafs that get shafted.

...and you guys wonder why nobody outside of Toronto likes the Leafs! lol

What a bunch of crap! McDavid, Huberdeau, Draisaitl, Stamkos, Goudreau, Kaprizov, McKinnon....ALL more deserving than Matthews.

...and Marner on the 1st allstar team? yeah, sure.

That's some pretty crazy participation-ribbon Leafs B.S. right there.

The Leafs will never win, ever. Really though, with this type of bias and attitude, they've already won in their minds (your minds)...so why would they even try to succeed past the 1st round of the playoffs...they've already won. lol

totally pathetic organization and unrealistic fans. It's fun to watch you celebrate your failure, but it IS annoying.

The Leafs will never win anything until you people start evaluating them properly. What a crock.

Yeah theyre showing 6 guys but 1 guy jumping off the ice. But they make an interesting point. Who is he changing for? Nobody else anywhere near the bench.

Im not seeing anything wrong. It would be nice to see a better video though.

- prock

I think he jumped on the ice a little too early, but oh well, fack tampa.

Apparently. But why does there always have to be some facking. Fix the problem already.

A little early. See where the bench is, see where Kadri is.

I'm sure most around here will feel for the injustice Tampa has just lived through.

They probably would still be playing right now if it wasn't for a missed call.

Yes Clouseau, we’re talking about someone who won an individual award, a big name player who won three of the biggest individual awards.

Replay the game? Nothing gets done except for Mrs. Cooper changing the tear soaked pillow cases at home.

Oh, you think the nhl is going to do something about the garbage reffing that has occurred the past several years in all games for all teams?
Ok that's cute, sure maybe this joke of a league will finally do something.

As a fellow Habs poster reminded me.

Ok, yeah.

Tampa also had multiple occasions in the game with the exact same thing. Just didn't score.

EDIT: Hell, in that exact picture, Tampa has more guys on the ice than Colorado.

Tampa has 7 on the ice

Is it at all possible that if Kadri wins the cup he'd sign here for a bit cheaper?

Kind of doubting it but we know he loves Toronto and lives off passion...if he wins the cup the next thing to keep the fuel going would be bringing a cup to Toronto.

He is 32 in October. In the open market he isnt getting anything huge on anything more than a 4 year deal. Likely 7-7.5M.

If Leafs went 7 years and he took a bit of a pay cut on value is there something there?

use Campbell's money and sign Kadri. Play 4 forwards, 2 D's and no goalie.
