Murphy IMO checks more boxes - homiedclown
Go get them both, 41 this year for Murphy and give Vegas back there 2nd next year for Hague
Samuelsson Dahlin
Power Murphy
Hague Joker
Have a Defensive Dman and Physicality on every pair. And 5 out of 6 are 23 or younger |

That would also be a physically imposing defense core based on size, except for Jokiharju. |

Would definitely make you feel better about Anderson in goal if you had a defense like that. |

If those reports of Detroit's 2nd at 40 this draft are accurate, it will cost more than VGK's '23 2nd right?
Maybe something like 41 & '23-3rd.
If the Sabres' FO believes he is a worthy target; I wonder if 28 gets them Hague and say VGK's '22-4th (112). Would you do that?

I'd rather invest in that blueline rather than a Top 6 F given the number of unanswered questions around the majority of their younger F players this season.
Now go, get a decent G for 2 -3 years and make UPL fight for it...why is he seemingly be handed an NHL job?

6 years younger, slightly cheaper. - IonSabres
Yeah I'll take the 23 year old with better stats and isn't signed to a terrible contract.

You already have this in Casey Fitzgerald….. if you think Casey can get better. We don’t need him.
If Adams sees him as a big upgrade of Fitzgerald. Then sure. A 3rd or 4th or something like that works
Personally fitz is a career ahler - Sabretooth9
He’s definitely got a higher ceiling than Fitzgerald
Fitz is a solid 3rd pair guy, at best
Hague has the ceiling of a top4 guy who can play a “shutdown” role
The upside is there with Hague
But like i said before, his skating needs work
And it’s questionable whether or not he’ll hit his upside
If Adams likes him over Bryson at LD3,
then it makes all the sense in the world
Even if Adams likes him over Fitz, but not Bryson,
that works as well bc Bryson can play the right side
A 3rd pair of Hague-Bryson could potentially be pretty good moving forward
Especially since they won’t have to log a lot of icetime |

I could get on board with that moving forward
Especially since I’d be ok with Murphy or Jokiharju moving up in the lineup if Samuelsson struggles |

This is actually an underrated signing
Malone is a pretty good AHL player
And we are really thin at Center in Rochester
We won’t see him much, if at all in Buffalo
He can can still be a help to the Amerks & the kids down there like Kisakov, Rosen, etc etc
Those talented wingers will need a decent Center to play with

Sure, but I’m thinking more long term here
The same way Dahlin got through his youthful struggles, I’d expect Power to outgrow them as well |

Fair enough
I wouldn’t give up a lot for Murphy
Definitely not moving a 1st for him
And i wouldn’t wanna move our 2nd this year either
But we do have 3 picks in the 2nd next year
And I’d be ok moving 1 of them for Murphy
It’s a risk for sure, but one that could pay off
If there’s better options,
I’d be quite ok going in a different direction as well |

For next years second would be cool with me. I just dont like his contract and I don't like his injury history.
He screams 3rd pair to me. He can play 2nd line for some stints but I wouldn't want him there full time.
I'd rather pay more for Hauge tbh. Can still mold him a bit and he doesn't come with brain injuries.

According to sources, the #mnwild have traded the rights to pending restricted free agent Kevin Fiala to the #lakings for their 2022 first-round pick and University of Minnesota captain Brock Faber |

Sure, but I'd put pretty high odds on a Fiala extension coming soon. I think that always hurts the Sabres on these deals.
