Can we at least get a goalie worth $2-$4 million? - Gr8daygo

Ppg guy, 30+ goals, age 25. That contract is a steal compared to what most ppg players get. - lacaprup
Sam was our Fiala. Always going to be chasing our tail if we can't extend our own guys.

I dont know why the Kings would acquire Fiala.
Its going to block guys like Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kaliyev................... - ImThatGuy
Kings made the playoffs and were a 100 pt team. |

As much as I’ve wanted Fiala for two off seasons now.
I wouldn’t personally have given him that contract. - Pegullaville
I think it’s reasonable |

The AAV is fine, 7 years is a long time though.

Yup injury prone bust.
The funny part is. After his world junior gold metal. He might have been the best young goalie prospect for his age group
Then hip surgery and injury prone since |

But why wouldn’t they just let their young guys progress and bring in a guy to play who is going to block them from playing first line minutes and not just hand those minutes to those young guys? |

In looking at the Kings’ salary cap situation it actually makes more and more sense the longer I sit on it.

I think the players we need to think about are the ones that have value analytically but also take the discount double check
Pisser
Hinostroza
Anderson
All had some sorta value even at making 1 mill a year |

Now we can debate if he would have taken that offer here and if Terry would have allowed it.

Agree. But it shows how they are busting at the gills to fit prospects in their lineup even after making a move like this. We aren’t there yet |

The only realistic answer is no to both, right? |

Will be three years younger then Skinner will be when his contract is up. I think fiala will be in his prime almost the whole thing |

Because they are already good. And have some many young guys, they can backfill if one guy leaves or doesn’t turn out good. On cheap contracts. Win now and still later |

I don’t get the impression that GMKA is very interested in trading for a player like Fiala, then giving him a 7 year contract. - PrinceChill

to at least one
Maybe someone thinks neither, but the trade cost was too high.
I want to make our top 4 picks, but I'd take that deal + that extension, if I could.
