Did you hear Kevyn Adams yesterday? He made the Ben Bishop trade because not being at the cap floor gives agents more leverage in negotiations, as if players desperate to stay in the league are going to have that kind of negotiating power.

Took the last place Sabres 2020-21 to a record of:
17-12-2

Curious if you have a tv in your analytics bat cave?

Winning games = played well

- Boss34

Um….. if the Sabres win a game say 7-6 did the goalie play well?

I assume so cause they won.

IE)

Anderson gets credit for a win against PIT posting an .880 score %

He gets credit for a loss posting a .920 sv %

The logic is flawed and the stats do not back it up.

AARPanderson would post a .939 so % one game and follow it with several sub .900 performances.

He was not good for a majority of games last year.

all anderson and tokarski does to this roster is prevent us from competing for a playoff spot in the next season

anyone who thinks anderson was average let alone good has blinders on

- homiedclown

One can think that Anderson was "average" last year and still want a serious improvement in the actual starter. Overall he was the best we could have hoped for last year, even if he did slip at the end (again, probably due to over-use).

Here me out:

GM: we want to sign you

Player: you have a lot of cap space I want more money.

Gm: No. we will pay you what the market dictates.

Player: fine I’ll go sign somewhere else.

GM: okay go ahead.

And bringing back Anderson right now, does not prevent us from signing a UFA goalie or trading for one, true or false?

No one here is saying we should go into next season with an Anderson/UPL goaltending tandem
(Well, maybe Boss 🤣🤣)

Free agency hasn’t started yet
The draft hasn’t happened yet

Adams still has time to make moves for another goalie

In a related event. Money ball is all but moving from Oakland to Las Vegas.

you got 4 picks in the top 41 this year

4 picks in the first 2 rounds next year

dahlin, power, sameulsson on the back end

tage, skinner, cozens, casey, krebs, tuch up front with possible olofsson

quinn and peterka ready to go to nhl

vets in girgens and okposo

time to find a drury, teppo and mckee/warrener type guys and grab a goalie

I mean the prospects are stacked better now then in 2004

- homiedclown

Now this is good thinking. Small smart trades. Hockey trades. No need to trade all those picks this off-season.

Who is the drury we are acquiring? Has to be some high upside guys who aren’t valued on what they could become. Other teams Mitts. Nothing wrong with throwing 2nd, 3rds, 4ths, or lower level prospects. I’m keeping all my 1sts this year unless someone overpays for #28

you bring back anderson and make a paper move like bishop in september IMO if you strike out trying to get better players

try to get the best when the draft and free agency starts

Neither of those moves PREVENT us from making more moves

You’re (apparently) just ASSUMING they mean we won’t do anything else

That’s just not necessarily true

He explicitly said he doesn't want Craig starting, in certain terms.

And he again had no confidence in UPL being the guy. "He needs games".

- TheSabresTaco

His point regarding UPL, at least as I heard it, was that they would have liked him to have played more games to this point, not that he needs to play more games in the AHL now.

Adams all but ruled out a goalie trade by saying it's likely too expensive. I'm not holding my breath for another goalie to walk in the door this offseason.
