So McDonagh or Sergachev blocking a 100 or so shots means Tampa is bad at getting the puck out. Only reason I brought him up is cause someone offered him for a 6th, which wouldn't be bad - Buff36
The fact that tampa identified mcdonagh as the one to move kinda says something. And he brought other qualities to the table in addition to the shot blocking. It's not a bad attribute, but if its the lead in someones profile thats cause for concern. Sergachev was actually middle of the pack in shot blocks/60 in the playoffs.
A 6th for Zaitsev? Its not bad its just...why? He's got 2 years at a cap hit well above his worth. |

Were around 12 mil away.
Say 5 for Olof (being nice) Leaves about 7 million to get to the floor. Reports say they're looking for a goalie but I have no faith

I think if he were playing for someone other than tampa we'd say he was pretty average. Probably why they chose to move on. |

Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this total is with Bishop on LTIR /not counting/ against the cap. Once the season starts, and the Sabres are nowhere near the cap limit, his cap hit will count towards the overall team cap. So in reality its something like 7-8 mil to get to the floor.
Edit: nvm your original total is right. |

They would need one more forward, 3 more defensemen, and another goaltender if Olofsson is signed at $5M per.
If all 5 of those players are at $1M each, they would need a bit more than roughly a million to hit the cap floor. |

The Sabres are at $48.4M with Bishop's salary counting per CapFriendly, which is over $12M from the cap floor.

yeah they were right thats my bad. I still think after adding a goalie, olofsson and bryson the remaining amount to reach past the floor (enough to not be a problem for call ups) shouldn't be all that much.

Point is taking on a 6'2 RHD at 4.5mil for a 6th rounder wouldn't hinder us at all for the next 2 years. Most likely helps in all aspects.
Hits, Blocks, can play around 20 minutes, isn't Casey Fitzgerald |

It doesn't hurt, I just dont think it helps. If you're gunna spend 4.5 mil aav on a roster player, you wanna try and add someone who can at least move the needle offensively/defensively. Help out the the younger players. Zaitsev doesn't really do that. |

With 16 players. It should be easy, but it seems like they want to pay everyone else league minimum.
Why spend $ when you can trade VO and bring in 2 more Bishops?
