Agreed, or he knows his rights are being traded.

While he could be the same player, I'm seeing many people online making the assumption that he's the same player that he was during his time with the Sabres.

He's had 2 more years of development while playing in a top level professional league.

There's a chance he's improved.

The more I read about it, the more I want to stay away. If one of those guys are there at 41, sure. If not you could be drafting a guy who could be killed in war or jailed. No thanks. Juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Plenty of other talent at our picks.

Interesting post Tony.

Hopefully the war ends before the drafted player is ready to actually play nhl games.

I think some families work out a financial "adjustment " to going to war.
Whether they outright give the signing bonus and part of the contract back to russia?

Wonder if Kevin's phone rang on either?

If the Isles are looking to clear space to make some major moves, Kevyn could offer to trade Bishop's contract for Varly +.
That would be $5m in immediate Cap space, puting them about $17m under, while allowing them to spend $4.9 over the Cap..so a total of $22m.
Wonder what the + could be.

Wonder what his value would be?
He did play himself down to a healthy scratch/7th Dman on a really poopty roster.
5th, 6th?

IMO, the recent event creates opportunity that could be unparrelled anytime soon.
If I'm Kevyn, I am thinking of what it would take to move up...
-16 to say 12/13 for Yurov (3rd?)
- 28 into early 20's for Miro (4th?)
- 41 up to early 30's?? Maybe not.

Moves like those would be more desirable if Jiricek fell to 9. Getting a red hot Dman 1st, then let's them get more aggressive for the F ranks.
Again, all IMO of course.

Anyone’s thoughts on Kasper? All the reports say he will stick at center. A little grit. Good two way player.

Safe pick, almost what Lundell was a few years back

I am liking some other players around the same picks so I’m still on the pass train. I see yurov mocked to Buffalo in every mock so where there is smoke there is fire.

If he’s there at 28 I’ll take him. Too many other similiar players at 16.

Imagine the genious of then using bishops contract as an asset. Would be great. Varly could be a solid upgrade until our other guys are ready

I'd be shocked if he fell from a #9 valuation several weeks ago all the way back to 28

Not in terms of talent regarding Yurov, there's not.

Curious how you're getting to the math above when Varlamov makes $5M and Bishop makes $4.9M.

For my 6th rounder David spacek could have nice career like his father but obviously not as Impactfull

physical ( but not overpowering),very good Defensively and very good on the PP he has his father's shot

I would say his game is like the good old days when his father played
