Sean Mcdounough was terrible and Ferraro was worse. Neither seemed to be paying attention or offered anything insightful. Just many dull pauses as they could not understand what was going on half the time.
The NHL should be ashamed. Missed a great opportunity to showcase so many amazing players and story lines. Instead, they spent all their time cheerleading Colorado and downplaying what Tampa was doing and has done over the past few years.
They should have been ambassadors for new fans just tuning in to add some back story to players to connect with fans. Instead they were like 2 dorks at a middle school lunch table. The young lady on their team did a good job. I give her full marks.
Love the opening the Senators are creating. Talent is concentrated in kids 24 and under. Most of the good players are on long term deals. Cap space to sign prospects who are completing their entry level deals. Perhaps sufficient cap space to sign another top 6 player this summer.
Sens are big, fast and have lots of high end skill. They will surprise going forward. - spatso
While I'm excited by the prospect pool of the Ottawa Senators there is A LOT of development and 'let's see how it goes' still to get through. Tim Stutzle, Jake Sanderson, Brady Tkachuk are 3rd, 4th, and 5th overall picks. These are the players that really need to stand out, put up numbers, etc. Guys like MacKinnon, Landeskog, Stamkos, Hedman --> you need these guys on your team (along with developing guys you pick later). Sens have been able to develop players like Karlsson, Stone, Pageau, Hoffman, and Chabot outside the top 10 but a lot of failed 1st rounders too. Which is why I always stand firm you need to get 2 or 3 of those stars early in the draft to compete for multiple cups.
Boston and St. Louis are the only teams I can remember off the top of my head to win in the past 25-30 years+ without having top picks being the key contributors (and still BOS had Horton, Seguin play roles - STL had Pietrangelo and B.Schenn)
The Panther's window is open but closing fast as this is the last year for the core to stay intact. At a 3 million salary cap, players will have to be let go. The next three years with no first draft picks look ugly. Can Zito pull a rabbit out of his hat? His latest moves were in the wrong direction.

I love that no one understands sarcasm. Well done sir.

Agreed! He rolled the dice thinking that they could defeat Tampa and lost decisively. They realistically have no draft picks to deal, for 3 years and cap hell is on top of them. How do you come back from this, knowing that you have Tampa and Toronto in the same division? Florida will be 2nd or 3rd next season. Boston may miss out on the wildcard, because of the balance in the Metro.
I admit that EK is right, don't blow the Leafs up, but tweak them. Mike Augello needs to take down a 40 of Jack and chill.
players were said to be 23-24 now (19-20 at the time). Thomas was under age (18 at the time), and Kyrou wasn't there.
If they were there, yeah, the Blues are hurting, and they should absolutely be suspended. But it sounds like neither of them fit the profile/were there. - jpl0219
18 is legal age in Canada. I have not seen anything saying either of them weren’t at the event.

ESPN is an embarrassment to hockey.

What a missed opportunity. ESPN blows. - TrueGrit
That and they made sure to back every referees' call, no matter how bad it was.....
The Wild window could crash like Windows ME with their cap hell the next 3 years. Guerin will have to get creative. But the window seems to be opening for the Yotes.
The Yotes have 3 first round picks and 4 2nd round picks. They just gained a 3rd round pick in 2024 in the Kuemper trade. Today they launched the first LGBTQ+ hockey league dubbed the Pride Growlers. Imagine the possibilities there where they could one day become a feeder system for the Yotes. JC could bring a wealth of picks/ prospects in a trade. Add that to the ambiance and low carbon footprint of their new intimate 5000 seat venue. The only downside I see is that they will probably lose UFA Andrew Ladd. They won’t be able to sign him for that 5.5 Mil with the expected bidding war.
The Jets window is closed, its been closed since December of the 18-19 season but management and/or ownership doesn't seem to realize or accept it. Chevy is half-heartedly trying to pry the window open but he doesn't know which end of his rusty crow bar to use.
They should be looking at doing a major retool, hopefully that's what they do but who knows, they aren't the brightest hockey minds.
Flyers are window shopping, but instead of drywall, it’s brick, behind concrete, behind lead, behind steel, behind the dirt of the depths of the ocean floor. - szandor

Trotz provided the brick and mortar to shut it completely.
Never thought I would witness the same or worse collapse that ottawa senators went through a few years back but the jets have definitely topped it.
Players from 2.0 don’t want to play here. Chevy continually drafts players from the USNT program. They have no interest in playing in Winnipeg.
And when there are Canadians/Winnipeg players to draft or want to come home, chevy ignores them. (Hamonic 7 years ago and Lambos from last years draft).
Big changes are needed to turn this titanic around
As much as it hurts to say it, I think the Oilers window is painted on the side of a wall a la Wile E Coyote and the Roadrunner. And I keep falling for it. Damn you Acme!
