So most drafts have us taking Jiricek. Big, mobile, RHD, Top 4 floor with Elite ceiling. Wonder what the over/under on us going off the board and taking the kid from USNDT (Gauthier?) I don’t get the sudden interest is the US hockey these past couple of years. Are the kids actually really good or is there something behind the scenes that’s pushing US hockey? - ShadowsX42

Why are some people still arguing over Ron Hextall? Bottom line, none of the Flyers GMs since like Keith Allen have won the Cup. A couple of close calls but still nothing since 1975. And the last few haven’t gotten us close since that magical run in 2010 (where we lost to human predators and cover-up artists). Only a great GM would recognize Ville Leino’s greatness. Any coincidence that we’ve won nothing since Ville was sent packing? I think not. |

All situations top pair defenseman or high skilled center or bust. Speaking for myself I’m not interested in another wing right now. |

More and more American kids playing hockey, and all the best go to USNDP. Plus, draft classes tend to be cyclical. It's a down year for the CHL by their standards. Nice year for the USA, Finland and central Europe.

There is a real graphic of a rumored deal between us. But it didn’t include Farabee TK and Sanheim. I believe it was 5th, Foerster, York and someone else. Can’t seem to find it though. |

Whatever it is, it's too damned much. Debrincat just isn't a guy you spend that kind of trade capital on. We're not talking about 24-yo Patrick Kane or even Jack Eichel here. But his #'s are such that it demands an elite return.

I don't know how likely it is, but he is flying up the list for a lot of guys. Both Wheeler and Pronman have him mocked in the top 10 despite differing on his overall listing. Now McKenzie has him fifth. Button has him 7th and IIRC he was the one who had Morin going to the Flyers in 2013 as a late riser. It also helps that he played on line with Cooley last year, who everyone seems to think has the highest ceiling in this draft.
I think the talent of the USHL has definitely boomed in the past few years. And Chuck definitely likes his USHL players. His first three picks in 2019 were all USHL guys and he took two more last year. |

100% agree. Plus he’s going to command a huge contract shortly after as RFA. No thanks committing that many dollars to a winger when we truly need Center / d Men |

no way wright drops to us but i was suggesting that he slipped he might not be as good as people thought (patrick) - 2Real
The thing that always worries me is when speaking of #1 picks. For Every Sydney Crosby or Nathan Mackinnon or Connor McDavid, there is Brian Lawton, Nail Yakupov, Alex Daigle, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Nico Hischier, Nail Yakupov, and dozens of other #1's who where decent overall players but not stars all the way down to guys who just plain sucked.
Wright will probably be a very good pro, but he will never live up to the hype of being the #1 overall pick when compared to the likes of Crosby or Matthews etc. |

Such a bust at #1 you had to list him twice! |

Maybe the kid will be a stud. I just have an aversion to late risers or whatever you want to call them. I’d rather stay with the solid pick who’s been ranked similarly all year. |

I don’t buy this.
You sign JvR. You keep Giroux at top line LW? Even if the organization was aware Patrick could be out a large chunk of his third season (which turned out to be all of that season), I’d rather have Couturier and Giroux as your 1-2 punch at center then overpay for Hayes, which isn’t even a star.
JvR didn’t hurt anything. Trading 25 year old Schenn in my mind was the beginning of our issues. - SuperSchennBros
Hmmmm Blues still leading...Cup plus doing good in playoffs.
us Frost and Lethargica.
I believe this year will score more then 20 points.
I know he missed a season two years ago so he still has an excuse.
