I think the 2022-23 Rangers need the extra space more than the 2024-25 Rangers will
I expect cap to jump significantly then - jimbro83
Bill Daly was on the NHL channel yesterday and was saying Cap is flat the next two years but in 24-25 they expect a multi million dollar increase, he seemed to temper down the hosts expectation of a 10 million dollar increase explaining the players want less escrow. Im betting the Cap would increase anywhere from 4-8 million per. |

For those espousing Kakko for Dach:
“ Chicago’s 21-year-old Kirby Dach, who has had difficulty gaining traction since his third-overall selection in 2019 behind Jack Hughes and Kakko, is an intriguing possibility. It is unknown whether the Blackhawks, who are open for business under a new management team, would make Dach available.‘ |

Trying to avoid writing a blog on all these rumors, since we have had the center flavor of the day all week. I think it’s been Dubois, Malkin, Miller, Kadri, and Scheiele. Anyone i miss? |

In the regular season Chytil was terrible, but he really showed strides in the playoffs of the guy we hoped. Off that we really should give him 2nd line duties/minutes for a season rather than fork over money or assets for someone else. See how he does in that role and reevaluate after next season. I can’t trade him right now (which is ironic because I couldn’t wait for him to go lol) but the thinking being suppose the new 2C causes Miller Laf or Chytil himself to be offer sheeted next year and we lose them. They don’t have the money yet to go big game hunting for a center imo. Same with Kakko. Have to stay the course with both these guys if possible. Just get a 3C - RFA (3 million bucks tops) by trading one of the D prospects (sweeten it if you have too). That’s all they need to do right now at center. They don’t need any all stars, past ones ok but no current ones
I think this is year we have to be patient and I get that’s hard to do after the playoff run. But the business side says they need to do that this year
Because Miller Laf and probably Chytil are going to go boom next year imo and we cannot lose Laf or Miller for sure |

When it comes to which young Rangers player is being asked about in trade talks the most, it’s Filip Chytil.
Two league sources told The Athletic that Chytil has been the most talked-about Ranger in Drury’s various trade conversations and that the Rangers are willing to lose Chytil in order to acquire an older, more established top-six center.

I guess it’s maybe strike while the iron is hot where he was really good on the eyes in the playoffs. But i have a feeling they’ll regret moving him or Kakko |

Arthur Staple is also the dude putting out there the rangers could move Panarin. Really don’t believe most of the rumors he throws out there |

anybody getting overly emotional about anything out there good or bad is wasting their time
we just don't know, and Drury is a guy who plays his cards close to his vest |

4. Two things I'm hearing a lot:
- Parameters for a bridge deal with Kaapo Kakko are in place. It sounds like the two sides are close.
- I'm sensing more optimism about Vitali Kravtsov and #NYR than I have in 9 months. If he isn't traded before camp, he'll make the roster. |

Last thing I'll add in response to some of the questions: Neither Kakko nor Kravtsov appear to be off limits in trade talks. Signing new deals doesn't guarantee one won't be traded, especially if it helps land a center. But they're at the top of the current RW depth chart. #NYR |
