If we're gonna ride Chytil as the #2 then go get Gourde with as much $ retained as possible and reunite him with Goodrow on the 3rd line

Seattle needs help staying at the cap floor for the foreseeable future and we have assets

- picklerick

I saw some rumors he was an option they were looking at

Why do they need help staying above the cap floor? They're in prime position to take on bad contracts other teams need to get rid of and charge a premium to do so.

they can do that and still compile assets by trading someone like Gourde, no?

I guess, I just don't see a reason for them to trade him unless someone blows their doors off with an offer. He was their 2nd leader scorer last year and is one of their best players.

They don't want to win right now and he's now on the wrong side of 30. Don't think he's a part of their future. The Rangers could definitely "blow their doors off" with the some of the prospects they have

I agree except for the wrong side of 30 thing. He's only 30 and turns 31 in December. Don't think that's the wrong side...he's barely on any side of 30.

haha, I think it takes Buffalo out of Georgiev speculation though

If getting Craig Anderson preclude you from chasing a goalie, I have no words…

Don't see the Rangers buying out anyone this year. In fact, there will be no more dead cap hits this time next year.

So we were 2 games away from the SCF and we have traded half our team already.

Purely my own speculation, but I'd imagine they want some experienced vets to stick around and mentor their young talent that's going to start arriving at the NHL level as soon as next season.

He's only got three seasons left on a very affordable deal. I guess it'd depend what the Rangers were offering. I still don't think that Seattle would look to trade him, but who knows.

In my opinion, as I have said on Twitter, underwhelming return for Fiala. I would expect Dubois to require a bigger return
- airjan23

Dubois has played 5 years. He is a horse. He has nearly identical numbers as Barkov did in his first five years in Florida. Dubois has better numbers than Zibanejad in his first 5 NHL years. Dubois is 6'3" and 218 lbs.

Horses almost always start slowly in terms of their NHL careers. They need to grow into their bodies in order to learn how to take advantage of their size and strength.

Zibanejad does have a really wild look about him. But, he is a soft spoken person. Very kind and considerate of others. He is a genuinely nice person.

It'll cost a good pick, though. So be it. He needs to go.
