I mean he is only 25 and coming off a 85 point season. If he continues to produce like that as he hits his prime it’s not a bad number at all for a cap hit

To top it off, Brodin and Spurgeon combine for about 14 million the next 5-6 years lol. They are nice players but not that nice. They have to have the worst cap situation in the NHL now

Yea I disliked the Goodrow contract for like a month and haven’t thought twice about it since. Can’t put a price on guys like him come playoffs.

I think at first glance that it is a shockingly low return for Fiala. However, as we have seen firsthand in the Buchnevich trade, teams are NOT going to give up a substantial price for a RFA forward on a cash-strapped team.

Dubois should get a bigger return, but that proposal that you offered earlier on Twitter from the Rangers was decent value for the Jets. Still not sure how we fit him into our cap though unless Drury can involve a 3rd team for retention purposes.

A lot of fans see Goodrow as a 4th liner, which I understand. But it’s clear Gallant doesn’t. He Rarely played a typical 4th line role with the rangers. He average almost 17 mins a game during the regular season last year lol. That is not a 4th liner. We saw in the playoffs how important he was to the team. It’s not a bad contract at all

The team would be so much deeper if him and Blais would be on the 4th line. It’s tough doing that tho in the cap crunch. I have a feeling, Blais will be the right wing for Chytil and Laf to start the season, and goodrow on the 3rd line with Kravtsov and someone else that is probably not on the rangers currently

That would be great. Id much prefer a small trade for a center and sign Vatrano and Motte and go from there

They have to ride Chytil and Laf with second line minutes, they really built some chemistry as we saw.
