im hearing the Bruins LOVE Kadri. they arent a legit contender without him.
- wingz4life

In all seriousness I would take him in a second. He is is due for a payday, which the Bruins can't swing.

If Pittsburgh can't come to terms with Malkin...why would they do the same dance with Giroux?

So just to understand the Penguins plans...if Malkin and Letang walk, the next move is to offer sheet Mangiapane because they love him so much? So instead of finding another 2C (Kadri, Giroux, Strome) and a RD (Klingberg, Manson) the priority becomes a 5'10, 178 pound winger that put up big points playing a sheltered role because opponents matched their best defensive players against a top line of Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk. Mmmkay.

I don't see Mathews leaving Toronto. He's treated like a god, paid more money than he can spend, and appears to love the city. Why would he not re-sign and hope to play for one team his whole career. Nylander on the other hand should have a realtor on speed dial. 6.9M seemed crazy at one time but I think it's fair now. There will be plenty of interest. How about Jeff Petry and 33rd pick overall in the draft for Nylander? It's not an american city but close. Save five hundred g's in cash and snag first pick in the second round. Yeah I know what your thinking. Check Petry's stats once Marty St Louis arrived. He'd look good in the Blue and White.

If Pittsburgh loses Malkin and especially Letang it's over. Might as well start selling everyone for a rebuild. Malkin might be replaceable due to his durability issues and some viable 2C options. There is no replacement for Letang who was still an elite dman this year.

So Giroux signs in Pennsburg, and Malkin goes to Washington?

Explain when there's been any other factor for a player? "Winning?" That would mean staying where he is, and that doesn't seem to be even an option.

I call Mangiapane as the worst contract handed out this summer.

- DarthProbert

He's a RFA and his agent already stated he wants a 1 year deal to "see what's out there" as a UFA next season. He's gonna get somewhere between 4-5 million. Will be far from the worst contract, especially for a 35 goal scorer whom is crazy good defensively.

Any team that signs Kadri this Summer is gonna look really stupid in a couple years. Nazem is coming off a ridiculous 87 points, playing for a stacked Colorado team. He will be 32 (Oct birthday) when the next season starts. He will be looking to cash in on his last "big contract", and he has the point totals to back it up. He will very likely be signed in the $6-8m range. $8m may seem like a stretch, but guys get over-paid in free-agency every Summer. And he'll definitely be looking for some term at his age.

So ask yourself this question; do you really want to be paying Kadri $7,000,000 when he's 37?
