Mike Yeo announced as asst was the first major mistake. đđ
Teams seem to be better after he leaves.
He was coach of STL to start when they went from last to first. He's an asst now though even though he was an asst on a terrible Flyers team. - manvanfan

That goes without saying and my point was about risks not certainties... there's a chance you may lose that player to military service after making your selection in upcoming drafts. - boonerbuck
Yup, and I acknowledged that off the top. Anyway, three more years of Boeser, someone should probably send in a support team for Donnie. |

đđ» Brock is a godamn soft slug. He could potentially be a decent complimentary player on a well built roster. He simply doesnât work with this team. Too many small passengers that wonât make sacrifices |

right?
i'm fine with the signing.
I like the term.
Either he lights it up and lives up to the contract, or if the team continues to miss the playoffs he can be flipped for something in the next couple years.
Seems like a good outcome to me.

Just not my type of player overall. The contract is not bad though. I hope his next team is good with it.

The problem is, scoring wingers aren't these prototypical tough power forward players. All the players listed are as "soft" as they get, but they can all shoot the puck and shoot well. I get the whole need to address team toughness, and i 100% agree the team needs to get tougher, but you also need players who can score. |

Yeah I really like the signing. He's the right age for the team, and he sacrificed aav for term. Kid put up 23 goals in a year where he had to watch his dad slowly die and lose his mind. I know people hate to hear excuses, but on the human side of things, that was easily the worst and probably longest year of his life. I also have always been a big boeser fan. I think he's a great player. |

Perfect. Now we can only afford 3 minimum wage players and we have 4 roster spots.
1 of Horvat/Miller/Garland/Myers/OEL at the very minimum have to get traded, probably 2 of them in the next 2 seasons. |

Dude, by the time his deal is over this team will finally be getting good, I hope.
Maybe this will encourage Miller to sign a three year deal tooâŠ
One player isnât going to make or break this thing. |

I doubt YOLO would take over if Buddha was getting fired. The incredible Brad Shaw didnât take over for well respected, good NHL coach Green. If Alvsey is replacing Boudreau it will be with a Trotz/Quenville/Babcock type guy |

This is bull sh!t. Brock the 30 goal scorer! News flash, his best season was his first and he has been crashing ever since. His best season was 29 goals. He is gifted soft minutes on the first line and PP. a soft 20 goal scorer that canât drive play is not worth $5MM let alone $6.65. |

Why did he blow last year? He is a nice kid and it sucks what he went through but this isnât a one off brutal season. I dont understand the continual excuses for players that were drafted by this team. |

I mean, donât get me wrong, Iâm the king of hyperbole and beating a dead horse (Sutter, Beagle etc), but weâre getting next level irate about trading a 3rd round pick for a depth D and a 3 year contract, below the QO, thatâs in line with the industry average.
Two years away from being 1 year away. |

Rumor was if they replaced Bruce it wasn't going to be from the coaching carousel. |

Just seen they re-signed Boeser, leaving them with just over 2 million in capspace, only 10 forwards signed.
Someone has to go, unless New Jersey was insisting on Brock being resigned.

Which would take Yeo out of the running no?
Heâs basically the donkey of the carousel, nobody wants to ride the donkey. |

I'll see what the team looks like opening night. There are lots of things I have liked and disliked about what the team has done. I don't make the decisions. So i just speculate ways that they can work. |

Yes. Torts worked with Shaw in CLB and wanted no part of Yeo. I agree, Yeo is serviceable as an assistant. But look out if Boudreau gets fired and Yeo becomes an interim. The Wild quit on Yeo and itâs hard to tell if the Flyers quit on Yeo or if Yeo quit on them. - Minnyhock
