If that happens I’m thinking they’re going to package hoglander with an inefficient contract to get money out. Canucks don’t seem high on Hoglander

Giving up on a young skilled player on a low salary would be a mistake.

Once they trade Miller, there will be reasonable cap space.

Sure 35 is possible without Miller on the PP but I don't see why you are so confident. He hasn't projected it... he hasn't shown as much since his rookie season.
- boonerbuck

Miller is signed although they want to extend him they don't have to right now. Not sure how you can be so definitive he won't be here.

That's just the feeling I get and makes the most sense if this management is competent at all. The two most likely candidates to move because of salary and expiry date are Brock and Miller.... They would bring back players and assets management have been talking about adding to one degree or another.

Makes no sense to wait until teams set their rosters and use up cap space before pulling the trigger on a Miller trade. Its this summer or it's the newest blunder in this teams history of holding onto expiring contracts too long or letting them walk.

You forgot Garland. Should be the first to go.

Trade everyone of these fuckers.

They can keep my favourite player, Martin and Podkolzin, if he is allowed out.

I never forgot Garland. He has multiple years left on his contract, scored over 50 points and a +18 in a career year and makes less than Boeser and Miller. He's not a priority at all... and is trending upwards over the last few seasons. He's also tenacious and plays with heart. I'm not a huge fan but he's the least of my worries. If they can upgrade fine... but I don't see what makes him a priority to move.

He can’t or won’t distribute the puck and has been called out by his coach for doing it.

Even Nucker, who has been wrong on just about every player he has endorsed, admits this guy is a puckhog, who might have good analytic numbers, but is a drag on his teams.

Dump him while you can.

33 assists/+18 says he does distribute the puck.

I can't imagine the idea that a player who was called out by the coach makes it a priority to trade asap. Imagine the player movement and major mistakes made by teams if this were the case?

As I said when the team acquired him, a good 3rd line player, not a 5 million pr player.

Just another guy who is slightly overpaid by about 1.5 million.

Anyways, looking forward to the draft and anything that changes the direction of this team.

Just reading this from The Province. I kind of agree with them. Garland's season was underrated....

https://theprovince.com/s...P416G8#Echobox=1656697009

52 points. Only played 2nd PP unit which at best would get 30 seconds... finished 2nd only to Miller for even strength points.

Bruce may have been critical once but he also said this... “The tenacity he has shown has been really incredible,”

Garland was also one of the league best at drawing penalties last season.

"The Canucks’ team shot rate was better with Miller and Garland on the ice together than it was when Miller was on the ice without Garland. And according to Natural Stat Trick.com, the quality of the Canucks’ shots improved in similar fashion when Garland was on the ice with Miller compared to when he wasn’t skating with Miller."

That quote looks like a narrative buster.

Just more undeserved hate for a player on this team(not your comment I'm talking about). Like I said, I'm all for upgrading but he doesn't hurt this team and is nowhere near the top of the list of players to move asap.

Di you use those type of stats to evaluate all players?
My guess is the current whipping boys, on defense, OEL and Myers were pretty good, although neither on played top PP minutes

Its just one more thing supporting that Garland wasn't as bad as people make him out to be. A little over paid but not beyond reasonable. If they can do better with his salary by trading him then by all means, accomplish that but the narrative being pushed about him is not deserved. He's not getting you a top 4 rhd and as far as forwards go, he's effective and plays harder than most on the team.

Allvin's presser you can get the sense. They are going to try very hard to keep him.
- manvanfan

As they should. Gonna be a beautiful thing to see Miller in a Canuck uni at seasons start. Then the armchair GM's can be gathered to discuss...

Garland is trending up. No matter how you look at it with top 6 minutes he'll be a mid 60 point guy. He may have been a 'third liner' in ARZ...but can easily play top 6 here if needed. Would be nice to keep the lil' guy lol
