Not if you look at his past seasons. I guess you can say more minutes, new system etc. But I doubt it.
- VanHockeyGuy

With Boudreau and the right systems, TOI... plus PP here with Miller Horvat Hughes Petey Barrie could easily get back to 50 point seasons.

Plus he fits the choir boy narrative that many Canuck fans in here seem to enjoy.

Out his past 5 seasons his only real 'off' year was in TO ironically lol.

Babcock never used him properly and under Boudreau he would be fine IMO.

Probably won't happen anyways like the Miller and Boeser trades...

Barrie is 30 now and probably won’t anymore either. Bear is only 25 and fits this group age wise. I think he still has some upside.
- Shuswap Wap

I like Bear but also watched him closely in EDM. More of a defensive liability than Barrie with very low point production. Barrie would come on a good contract and possibly bring over 40 points. Barrie has a few decent years left and Boudreau could squeeze that out of him. Plus we need mobility back there on D. Gotta speed things up.

When they suck, I move down the coast. LA Chargers & SD Padres.

Not sure If I want Mayfield.

For f*cks sake why do we want him then? I thought we were trying to upgrade the D?

Never got the impression that Miller and Brock don't want to be here. Just a feeling but if we move on from the great pick that Brock was we will pay for it. Miller can go either way if he wants the big contract.

I don't want Bear here Shuswap does lol.

Upgrading the D and our 3LC and 4LC will be a process.

Hopefully Rutherford takes it seriously and isn't just here for a retirement job.

Lol no. Barrie is one of the worst at defending. He only racks up points with secondary assists when playing with awesome players. Didn’t stick in Colorado with their firepower. Didn’t stick in Toronto with all their firepower. Now Edmonton wants to dump him. He sucks.

According to Drance, Management is considering all options regarding Boeser including filing for arbitration by this Saturday. Negotiations are at an impasse. #canucks

I'd be happy with the elusive young stud RHD prospect this team desperately needs. Like Brock Faber, it's a rarity that comes with a premium. Pay the price.

He has his warts, but made some nice improvements on them this year.

Both eye test and pie chart stuff, back that up.

I literally laughed when I read this. Faber is no stud prospect. Here is a comparable quote.

NHL Potential

It is tough to tell how Faber will ultimately develop. He has the skill to become a top-four defenseman in the NHL but he could also be nothing more than a bottom-pairing defenseman. He has great skating and his defensive game is really good. If he develops properly, a comparison for me would be Ethan Bear. They are both great skaters and although Bear is more offensively gifted, I think Faber has the potential to reach that level.

I think Mayfield gets a bad rap, he can be a pretty decent QB. Especially in a Carroll run-first offense. But, it depends on what they want to do: if they want to try to stay competitive this year (their mantra), I can see them bringing him in. If they want to suck for a year or two and draft their future QB next year, then ya don't bring him in

The hockey writers.

Here’s more:

Quotables

“Remarkably strong but doesn’t display any standout characteristic that could be call dynamic or game changing. Is not an offensive player, just a player whose proficient on the defensive side. Calm, steady reliable and more than able to knock good sized attackers off their skates and the puck.” – Bill Placzek/DraftSite

“Faber’s skating and defensive game make him a legitimate NHL prospect. If he is able to develop, he could be a top-four player, capable of helping on the penalty kill. While he has some offensive skills, Faber is not likely to become an offensive catalyst at the NHL level.” – Ben Kerr/Last Word on Hockey

Technically yes. Not the best draft year 2022 for that however. 2023 looks solid and I would rely on Allvin's scouting to get that done. Personally I would look hard at the 2023 draft and just fill a few needs for the coming season. A Miller move at TDL next season (if need be) might net us an absolute excellent pick. Don't care much for what's coming in 2022.

How they get out of this mess is going to be some pretty good management maneuvers.
If they pay him his QO, then they have to pay both Miller and Bo at least that amount, as both are far superior players.

Analytics says he will never be good because he doesn't score. Cam Robinson says you watch him play, he's very good. If you take one homer and a different homer. You get a very good defensively sound 3-4 defender. Worth a mid 1st in most re-drafts.
